I have an autistic child and she loves the music clips from priory woods, they keep her entertained for many a happy moment (and it gives me a breather too!)

This site is worth a look for educational software:
http://www.greyolltwit.com/
It used to be free but now requires a one off fee of £9.99. I used to use some of these programs with children when they were free, and I would think they are very cheap at the price (there are nearly two hundred). Main stream as well as children with special needs can enjoy and profit from them. You might do a search and find a program or two being offered free somewhere. Worth a look.
From the authors site
"One of my sons suffers from ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). I produced these programs for him. Many parents and teachers of ADD/ADHD children have told me they really work for these youngsters, in fact all those with special needs."

i know the site and yes you have to pay a membership fee so where is the freebie when you have to shell out membership fees?0 -
Try this site for some useful material. It is very good for graph paper, shapes, worksheets, literacy and numeracy activities. It is one that lots of teachers use!! Some quite nice flash acrobat worksheets can be generated and customised to your requirements.

It can be so difficult when you have a child with special needs trying to keep them occupied and happy over such a long holiday.0 -
Hi,
I homeschool my 2 autistic kids on a very tight budget - here are some sites (not just for special needs) I've found useful for free resources such as reading books, colouring pages, games etc. These should keep your children happy for many an hour!
https://www.enchantedlearning.com
https://www.primaryworksheets.co.uk

A good site I often use at school is http://www.widgit.com/ although a lot of the stuff needs you to purchase some quite expensive software, if you browse the site, you will find lots of free good resources, for which you only need adobe acrobat, (which is free).0
