Wednesday 3/12/08 Wht small dfw things have you done today???

:D When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Today I will:
  • check online banking done
  • move some spare cash to savings done
  • make a loaf in breadmaker
  • storecupboard lunch and tea
  • add some coins to sealed pot
  • swim nd jacuzzi to use gym membership
  • another bag of stuff to charity shop - DD tidied out her room:eek:
Good morning guys, cold and frosty again here. LOts to do this morning as it is oldies xmas fayre this afternoon and I still haven't baked the cakes:rolleyes:
Hope you all have a good day, welcome on board to any new posters and hi to the regulars:hello: :hello: :hello: .

See you later:D

  • I gave in and bought a coffee this morning on the way in to work (£1.20) which helped defrost my fingers somewhat on the walk in;
    Will be transferring £20 across from my ISA to buy a bottle of whisky for my Papa's birthday;
Putting a bit of petrol in the car for the weekend trip back home (but will buy at 89.9p from the supermarket rather than the local garage).

Crap mood today - had a visitor in the office last night who used to work here and spent most of the time bragging about her $1million home meanwhile some of us are facing toast and beans again tonight for dinner.
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

Ah ha!! There you are I was looking for you yesterday! Glad you're back, now all I need to do is track down KT...

Was very good yesterday a nsd and had dinner bought for me by ex, and I accepted a cuddle as it was soooo cold

Chipped the ice off the car this morning, makes me wonder whether I should have stayed in bed, still, if I'm at work, it is saving my heating bill

    Today's list
    • check banking
    • fiddle half heartedly with spreadsheet
    • bought in breakfast and lunch
    • go to library
    • carry on wearing pink thermals
    see you all later!

Well two things, if she is bragging then hmm - why does she need to show off - thats not the sign of a happy bunny. Those who are happy are content and bragging isnt attractive.

And right now I don't think I'd be bragging about being £1m in debt - I am thinkiing she doesnt OWN this home outright???? I'd not be bragging about that, i would probably not be sleeping.

If you want to feel better, think about how much debt she is in, think about how much INTEREST she must be paying, how her home is probably worth alot LESS than she or whomever paid for it.

Sounds as if beans and toast to be honest for tea is a far more long term happiness promoting prospect than being thoughtless and braggy.

Pah to her - i turn my back on her rudeness - and so should you, feel superior and smug eating your beans and toast later - you work hard!

  • Good Morning All,

Snuggly warm hugs for those that need them today.

Today, I've checked online banking - still no maintenance payment from my ex or wages from mystery shopping co

Will make some bread and save the stale bread to make a bread pudding at the weekend.

Jumpers and woolly socks today - the house is pretty cold and I won't put the heating on just for me.

Will start cutting up old clothes and fabric oddments to make a very large rag rug for the lounge. Got laminate flooring and it's too cold.

Bake some cookies for DS from storecupboard

    Freezer surprise for dinner.
Found a wine kit in the back of the cupboard so I'll start that off today

Some mystery shops to do but no spends involved :D

More knitting of my scarf - nearly finished.

    NSD too.

I think that's it for me, have a great day a great day everyone.
I won't buy it if I can make or borrow it instead
