I know a few retailers/restaurants like yourself who are having a bit of a hard time. This is a shame really as most have good business models, but even those with good models are finding it tough when income dries up, while costs go up. In my view if MR Clown had not been intent on 'stopping the boom & bust' cycle we'd have been in a mild recession a few years back and would be now in the clear. We are going to pay now with something very very severe indeed, and something that is going to wipe out alot a boad businesses, but also some pretty sound ones aswell.0

Sorry we will bow to your magnificent sense of reality
Actually I have not read one comment on this board that suggests we will be back to normal in 6 months, I may have missed it though. (apart from the horseyman possibly). 'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
speaking of financial lunacy, i once came across someone who had taken out significant loans in order to invest in AIM stocks. he was convinced that in the long term he would make a return better than the interest rate he would have to pay. needless to say it didn't work...0

Yes I have to admit I have had offers to increase my limits etc without asking but I have always declined. I pay mine off in full every month and go on holiday with the tesco's vouchers obtained.
If it is a genuine case I just think that it is beyond all possible logic to get into that position. Certain once you maxed 4 or 5 cards you might be thinking .... hold on a minute I 'can't pay'.0 -
Without particularly trying, I've got credit cards with a total of limits of about 30-40k I reckon. If I started spending on them (and making the payments) you can bet that I'd be offered more credit.
and if your existing provider won't give you any more credit, then you can double your credit limit by transferring your balance to a new card, and then running up the same balance on the old card again.0 -

yeah but they just transfer them all from 0% deal to 0% deal, so the future interest liabilities don't seem real. then they run out of 0% deals because there are a finite number of credit card companies, and the whole thing comes tumbling down.0
