Hello everyone
-Commiserations to the germies - get better soon, so you can enjoy the festive fun!
Have finally tracked down a tree that I'm happy with (only taken me a month), which is now all lit, and dressed beautifully - that's a total of 8 fabulous trees in my house - all very different - I sooooo love Christmas!
DH's son has asked if he can come to us for 23rd and 24th - dead busy with stuff, but it will be lovely to see him (spent several years where he didn't talk to his Dad after parents marriage broke up, was VERY VERY difficult for a long time), will just have to find ways to involve him in the things we have to do - fancy changing the beds, James? I'm sure it will be fine! (And if not, I'll have plenty to keep me out of the way).
So, to recap, house decorated, cards done and sent, all gifts bought and wrapped (and delivered where appropriate), all non perishables bought, menus written, to do list done - so that must mean... it's time to make Christmas food!!! - Pledge for tomorrow - Sausage Rolls (and maybe Cheese Straws), also, make carrot & swede mash for 16, to freeze, ready for Xmas Eve - no rest for the wicked?
Have a great evening everyone - will call back later - if I don't fall asleep.
Jx
:T Well Done Julu:T
You've been busy busy busy!! 8 TREES!!!! I thought we were mad with our two trees (okay they're both artificial and ones white, but uno):D Lol:rotfl:
I wish i was at your house carrot and swede mash!!! I love it!!:rotfl: lol
I better get my weekly to do list up to date (including all the novelties:rolleyes: ) lol:D Can't really do much until the 19th (when i get all my money) but hey ho!:D
Will put must list up later.
..xxI am only me, no pretences, no second guesses.. It's the best I can do, I'm sorry if that's not good enough for you... I'm sorry I'm not good enough for you :A0 -
I am so on the naughty list - been getting side tracked, went to sunderland, which is like a 40 minute round trip to get all new bedding for my husbands surprise and I always do this - when I get home I think ah I wish I had got that and end up having to go all the way back and I have to do it straight away or I go crazy thinking about it. Anyways I spent half of what I thought I would spend so all good there. I'm all prepared then my friend phones and tells me my hubbie told her he was off on christmas eve and that he was keeping it as a surprise from me - well that's when I was going to redecorate the bedroom and remake all the beds with new duvets, covers, etc; and so when he came home he would go to bed in a brand new room with new covers which he loves!!! so now I have to do it the day before!!!!bah hasn't got the same appeal now - the day before christmas eve!!! I guess he'll still like it albeit a day early.
So tomorrow I have to make the teachers reindeer as her last day is on thursday and get rid of the rest of my christmas cards and finish wrapping the last few presents. That is my pledge.0 -
Scattymam.. he is preparing a day off surprise for you.. what man wouldn't think it was perfect if his wife had co-incidentally re-decorated the bedroom so he could wake up on his day off in a beautiful new bed and room and begin christmas. Christmas eve is PERFECT!!
Jammy I had a word with Paul this morning like I told you.. and hey presto... it's sortedDidn't even have to get my chebs out. Girl power to christmas angels!!

Was really organised and months ahead for this Christmas but seem to have been distracted by my HM mince-pies and forgotten to do much recently, then suddenly find it's 9 days to Christmas!
I tried to join in right at the beginning of this thread then got distracted finding recipes on OS and entering competitions in an attempt to win next years pressies (some organizing and thrifty-ness there)!
Anyway, have been writing lists and thinking about it so I'm joining in again!
Have wrapped stocking pressies, all but 1 proper presents and pre-cooked some of the Dinner. But I'm, sure I'm on the naughty list!
Things still to do - (am I doing this right? I thought this was the thread for 2009??)
Post Dad's present
Posts Sisters' cards
Give MIL GMIL's card
Wrap BIL's present
Buy another mince pie oven tray thing
Make more mice pies for hampers and DO NOT EAT THEM THIS TIME!
Make and freeze carrot and swede mash
Buy more parsnips then roast and freeze them.
Make room in the freezer for more christmas food.
Make more paper chains and snowflakes as mum's swathes of HM decorations put my feeble efforts to shame!
Tomorrow I will aim to do at least 3 of the above!
Good luck to everyone else and happy organising!June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500
2 adults, 3 teensProgress is easier to acheive than perfection.0 -
mistyw and scuzz GREAT to see you both back on the thread.
:D
I think that feeling smug is a brilliant feeling and combined with festiveness this can only be the most wonderful time of the year
Those of us who are ill.. I share your pain, I really do. This can't be the last week.. Can it?!! *Mad Panic* I desperately felt deflated and low at the weekend but then I realised christmas is for me and my family and as long as we have each other.. Who needs anything else. They're just a bonus x:xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0 -
I have a problem - I've got hardly anything left on my list  this is sooooo unlike me and I can only blame you all for getting me sorted :rotfl:
list looks like this now:
Update 2009 present list
[STRIKE]Tidy bottom of airing cupboard[/STRIKE]
Clean kitchen windows - tomorrow's pledge
Find floor in spare room (without dumping it on the bed)
**ducks as people throw large heavy things**
Seriously though a huge thank you to everyone.
I'm normally hiding under the duvet, stressed to bits and feeling really low by now. OH is worried as the house looks so tidy and that he's going to get his arms ripped off if he messes up the airing cupboard
Now off to find things to put on my list so I don't worry about not having a list......................... no 1 find the plot:DOfficially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended
