No question is ever silly - which is what makes Martin's website so friendly and fantastic :j
some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it :)
  • flissy25- you can also do this unofficially on this one (me thinks) i don't know, ask mel :D lol

  • Been & voted Mel :T

Love that site Phunkles, might get the fimo out tomorrow & have a go at making my own. I like getting the candy necklaces from £land to wear, only problem is when OH decides he wants to eat them!

I had a sealed tin last year, put all my coins on that were smaller than 50p, raised over £100 for a trip out with the kids in summer & £60 towards xmas. Thinking this year to put it towards next years sales. The tins from £land are great as you need a can opener to get in it, no risk of anyone "borrowing" any or temptation.

Hi, I've been reading all the posts on here over the last week and think this thread is brilliant. As me and OH have 5 kids and 8 grandkids (9 by end of March) between us (not forgetting nieces etc.) it is getting rather silly with birthdays in every month (5 in May!) as well as Christmas so need all the help I can get. I have already bought all the wrapping paper and cards very cheap in the sales, and one or two stocking filler type things, found a large box to keep presents in (which I hope can accumilate during the year instead of having to find them all (and the money) so close to the time.
I have also found a sealed money box and started that off with a pound today. Thank you for motivating me, and for all the great tips on here, It really does help writing all this down and am hoping by doing this for everyone to see - it will force me into keep it up!
btw I have also voted for mel, very very good cards, they are lovely.
 you are as you are, if you aren't as you ought to be.

    Hi

have managed to vote again Mel as on someone else's wifi!!

Thanks mum2one have been on halfcost and ordered several bits including the cheap wrapping paper for next Christmas tho left it a bit late and couldn't get all the bargains I had wanted prob just as well!!

I am visiting family in Essex and went to the cheap shops and local 2nd hand shop and got loads of crafty bits for a few pounds. A huge tin of old buttons, threads, fibres, lace and best of all several fake flowers that I'm hoping I can pull apart and use in scrapbooking (when I eventually start... got all the stuff and seceral lay outs planned just need to do them!) or in cards managed to make several thank you cards with DD which was fun and easy!

Anyway must go off to bed, spent half the night reading all these amazing blogs from people who are into crafting I get so excited and inspired!

    Night all xxx

Just been browsing around the site, thought ' i'll just pop back' to see if anyone else has posted, got to the end of furrypig's post and wondered what time it was to be saying 'night all' ... I did this
so I guess I'll say Morning all, I'm off to bed XXX
I expect there'll be more to read tomorrow (today) when I drag my sorry backside out of my pit :j

Furrypig Oh. MY. GOD you got a tin of buttons and lace ARGH Why do my charity shops never have anything that cool?? I am so jealous me wants some too!! Seeing as you are so inspired.. what are you going to make first :D:D

JordanShannon Your list makes me laugh. Most parents moan when their children want a PS3.. You want a car AND some driving lessons WHEW :D You must be one very special princess. AND dolly beads?? You're taking the mick now.. Just kidding!! If you varnish dolly beads.. and you can do this with nail varnish, then you can wear them as jewelery or give them to your friends as presents in a nice gift box :) There are a lot of gorgeous craft books out.. what things are you into in paticular? I would recommend a subscription to a magazine though. Buy a few based on looking at the covers and seeing which ones catch your eye and then when you find one you like they offer really cheap subscriptions with a free gift.

Pattiemay thank you so much for taking the time to vote for me, I really appreciate it x If you want a challenge.. the OrganizedChristmas thread is always there to read through.. that is when we were at our best ;) Now we just waffle on LOL I am sure you have a lot to share with us seeing as you have a lot of organisation for 8 grandkids!!

SylphRaven I swear to god we are seperated at birth. I have that same tin to save my money in. Last year when I opened it I couldn't get into it for nothing.. I tried the electric can opener and a knife in the end lol. I saw they had them in Home Bargains up Wellington for 49p the other day. I didn't buy one though because I want a Disney Princesses or something sickly sweet :D Same money tins.. we could be twins you know.. TWINS.. because we have the same money tin.. THE SAME!!

mum2one Your idea is so sweet I absolutely love it. You are such a wonderful mommy, you are always saying things that just make me aspire to be like you for my own children. Do you collect it all in a GIANT pot or just cash it in every time it gets full.

Phunkles I know what you mean about those CoinStar Machines. I didn't know where to get money bags from this year so what I did was empty all of the pounds and silvers from the tin and then used the CoinStar for the pennys. Ohhh I'm naughty.

Loveday69 I was making some things last night and when I checked the time on the XBOX (the living room clock had stopped at 9) it was 3am  ahh well.. think how moneysaving you are now :rotfl:
