I'm shopping for next year today. QVC are having a clearance on jewellery today, so nabbed a bargain there. Also done some QVC clearance shopping online via Quidco, so will hopefully get some money back there:T
Having a nose at online sales and seeing if there are cashback sites linking to them.
Cut out a lovely Pooh Bear picture from the box my new slippers came in, which will make a gift tag - I've not bought tags for years! Saved some of the wrapping paper from yesterday to put away for next year too.Comping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -

PLM- sorry to hear about your Christmas but have to admit, you do have a way with words............hope you keep a diary...........I intend to for 2009 then maybe when I look back on any mishaps that are just bound to happen in our manic household, we can have a laugh at them this time next year.
Eldest son did a DVD of baby grandsons first 18 months.........quietly thought we'd sit and watch it this afternoon - then we find our dvd player no longer works...........oh well, thought I, we'll watch it on computer...........no ! Disc got so far and then stuck.............not sure if its computer or disk........hate having to tell my son. He'd done to so much trouble making a DVD cover with photo of baby grandson and he'd put one on the disk as well.
OH just went upstairs and checked the radiatior in young lads bedroom -wasn't working before christmas so got the plumber out and he fixed it............but now its not working - again !!
Aways something goes wrong at Christmas ...........why is that ??
I had every intention of having a tidy up today but my back is playing up so that ideas shelved for another day but I'm so fed up looking at the 'stuff' around me ...................the remains of christmas past and stuff to be re-used for christmas next year........ex foster lad has offered to help me de-clutter and I know full well he'll take half of it home with him (she says hopefully.................lol) Must make sure I've found a home for all the bits I want to re-use next year -and remember where I put them............lol
Take it easy PLM and the rest of you................:oMary

Evening all, sitting here with a yummy glass of mulled wine while OH pops to the chippy.
What a shame PLM, hopefully things will go a bit smoother from now on.
Thank you all for helping me get organised for christmas, all went very smoothly my end ...... its just other less organised people that made christmas dinner a tad late, I ended up rather upset & annoyed over it all due to peoples selfishness, OH cheered me up by whispering to me that we'd invite mom over for a new years eve roast, & if we're lucky enough to get a turkey (I'm refusing to go shopping until monday) it'll be christmas dinner take two. LO also ended up very ill with flu, thankfully he's feeling much better today.
So where do I go now? What things do you plan to do in January towards a money neutral 2009 & christmas preperations?
How long do you wait after christmas until you get your wrapping paper & xmas cards?
What threads can we look at to let us know about earning via clicks etc & what works for you?
Whens best after christmas to start selling on ebay again?
Anyone willing to share what they do?You cant take a step forward with both feet on the ground0 -
Between now and New Year I'll make some resolutions that are realistic for me to stick to
12th night decorations come down so not much point in major de-clutter till then - but I will and who knows, I might find a few bits I can recycle as next years christmas pressies for a few folk, saving me a bit
Made a list of stuff I intend to make for next years boxes and baskets -have to be careful I don't give the same things twice over
Need to re-organise my photo albums then maybe start sorting through Christmas cards to see what I can salvage from them to recycle them into next years cards
Keep a diary/journal about what happens and how it affects me/how I deal with it.............might help later on and could give me a chuckle at the end of the year, who knows.
Thats as far as I've got.................:o -no guarantee it'll all go according toplan but I can but tryMary

Thanks everyone fro your Christmas wishes and stories but oh dear PLM what a dreadful story I really can't imangine having to go through such an awful day especially when you are such a devotee of Christmas!
How are things now?? Hope all things improve including your chest.
I've had a lovely Christmas so far, just the 4 of us at hime yesterday and hubby did all the dinner but I was asleep by 9.30!! I think it was staying up until after 1 on Christmas eve (and possibly had something to do with drinking alcohol throughout the day!!). Today I cooked dinner for 17 including 2 veggies! All went well though and it was great to have all my family and a much noiseir afternoon with loadsa game playing and fighting overt the sofa!!
Got 9 to cook for tomorrow so a bit quieter.
Enjoy the weekend everyone.
Anyone done any sale shopping so far?? I did a small quick shop from M&S sale online so far that's it. Happy bargain shopping!0
