Hi,
Hope everyone is well & welcome newbies. I've given out loads of Xmas cards & gifts over the past couple of days. I've just got 3 more gifts to buy & wrap & a few last-minute cards to write. I feel a bit rushed this Xmas because we're moving house on Monday, but we've done most of the decorating & bought/sent most Xmas gifts/cards so am not panicking too much. Goodnight!0 -

Hi, I am newbie to this thread! I must say it has given me some great inspiration! I snatched the idea of saving every £2 coin I get and I also told my partner to do likewise and got a large glass jar to start collecting them in. I told him this late Sunday night and hey presto ... 4 days later we have £12 saved already! I think that is a really good start! Our estimate/aim was to be able to add at least 20 £2 coins month (£40) and so by the end of 1 year we shall have £480 minimum! I am so pleased with this idea and have started to tell family and friends who are also thinking of starting the same idea! I don't know exactly what we are saving for yet as we already have separate holiday savings (coppers, silvers, the lot), but I am sure when it starts to build up we shall have something in mind by that point! Thanks everyone! Keep up the good work!:beer:Mummy to a beautiful 4 month old princess! x0

emilyjackson - congrats to you too :T - and for the record this is the friendliest most helpfulest and nuttiest thread I've come across and it has been a pleasure and a godsend to be involved with it, so welcome.
I wish I was moving - been on the market since June:mad: - reduced our price twice - I'm hoping the market will pick back up in January like it normally does at that time of year!!!!
I am so on the good list jammy - I made the bairns teachers reindeer today and they came out fab - will post a photo soon. I love them now and am planning on doing them for everyone next year! Made peanut butter cakes from my nigella cook book - they are lusher than reeses ones. I made a roast dinner for family and my dad tonight then I walked the dog then I went and did an asda shop and got enough to stuff to last us til the new year - I can officially get snowed in now. I've always wanted to get snowed in! This man on the radio was moaning saying the shops are only shut for one day - well I know that but the whole point of christmas is to stick your backside to the sofa premanently and eat your way through everything naughty that you have until new year approaches and you decide you're going on a diet so you have to unstick your butt from the sofa to go and buy some healthy crap...
Off subject - it was fun in asda tonight the foreign secretary was in and he has like 4 bodyguards checking down aisles while he mills about doing his shopping. He bought some kettle crisps I think!!!:rotfl:0 -
ok so here goes - here's my reindeer - I made two for dd's teachers and they had LUSH candy cane bubble bar slices inside.
and thought I'd throw this one in - this is how much my daughter enjoyed her nativity play - I say hyper my mam used to say she has a love of life.;)0 -
