I ordered a tomtom one V4 with 12 months free breakdown cover (don't have to activate this until July 09) and free map upgrade (don't have to activate this until Oct 09) for £86.98 on Cdiscount http://www.cdiscount.co.uk/SoundVisionandSatNav/SatNav/withUKMaps/f-438-178933.html

Ordered on Sunday - arrived on Wednesday.

If you use Quidco you get a further £2.59 back and also you can also pay in three instalments at no extra cost and you also get VAT back which is added to your account for you to spend on the Cdiscount site.

    Pretty good value I reckon.

After a fair bit of hunting around, before I purchased the SatNav, and calling tomtom I got the answers. It's a company called Mondial Assistance. If you have a look at the FAQ's on this page it tells you a bit more: http://www.tomtompromotion.com/assistance/

I also called Mondial and it seems that you're covered in the UK and IRE (if you purchase the tomtom assist with UK and IRE maps) and you're covered for you, your car and up to 7 people to be taken anywhere in the UK. You're not covered for Home Start as you have to be 2 miles away from your home for them to come out.

You are also not covered for silly things like breaking down because you ran out of petrol!

    Hope all that helps.

It has been suggested that you can register the breakdown cover to you at another address eg. a relative who lives more than 2 miles away. This would effectively give you home start as well since if you broke down at home you'd be more than two miles from your registered address.

Good point - I remember ages ago I forget to change my address with RAC and was registered at my parent's home but actually lived in London - car wouldn't start in London and called them and they came out and fixed it - no problems.

Decided on the Navigo after seeing it mentioned here @ £55 and reading the mainly positive reviews. Was £60 last night when I ordered it. :(

Saw your post, quick call to eBuyer and I got a £15 refund! :j

    Thanks!

I've ordered is at £44.99 today. The Mrs has been wanting a satnav for a while so this will be great.
I also added a 4gb MicroSD card for use in the R4 card for the Nintendo DS for a similar price to what I would have paid for delivery.

I decided instead of paying for delivery, I'd rather add another item for a few quid and that way I will get something instead of nothing.
  • Not sure of the spec but I have just got back from Asda and they are selling Binatone sat navs for £50.
