I've found a playstation 3, 80gb console for £289.99 with 4 games. The games can be sold off on playtrade for approx £25 each which will greatly reduce the initial outlay of the console...

Found a voucher on ebay for £5 off as well for 99p, so a further £4 off and if you take out a loyalty card at a cost of £3 it will have £7.25 credit on there so a further £4.25 reduction...

    Here's the link:

Please let me know if you can better this 80gb console ideally required...

    total price with savings: £281.73

    thinking about this myself
  • Dixons are doing the following bundle (Playstation 3)
Sony 80gb Console with Little Big Planet & Resistance 2
for 293, with a 5XMAS discount code (5%) that comes to 278 and if you happen to have an Egg Money credit card there's an extra 5% cashback
http://www.dixons.co.uk/martprd/editorial/eggdiscount/?camp_id=special-egg-cashback so that comes to around £264 delivered.

Not at all bad, when you consider the games are selling for around £40 each.
  • Hi

Zavvi In CREWE doesn't know anything about the xbox360 99pound deal.

    Any OTHER suggestions please

  • Just a quick note to parents.
If you are buying an xbox 360 DONT get the cheap arcade edition. They are really conning people on the adverts.
"jump in" for £129.99. You wont be able to play online. You need a hard drive to save maps, profiles, updates etc....
Microsoft are also really tight with their gigs as well."20gig is not enough on the premium £160.

I think the premium/pro (or whatever they call it nowadays) comes with a 60gb hard drive.

Dillinger is right on the online play though. If you want to go on-line, you'll need the hard drive. Me, I just like to play by myself (nearly typed that wrong).;)

    Did you get it?
  • XBOX 360 60gb premium , littlewoods direct or additions direct £169 , £139 with discount code which I have if anyones interested??
  • I'm curious - what is to stop people getting a 360 arcade and simply attaching a standard PC 750GB/1TB USB 2 drive?
Seems to me to be a much more cost effective solution.

    :edit:

incidentally, where are the console manufacturers getting all of these pitifully small harddrives from?!
20/40/60gb?!?!?! Such tiny drives were obsolete years ago :S

Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.
