At the moment I am living in the Philippines on an extended tourist visa
My money is still in a UK bank account but as I have sold my UK property,
my bank has accepted my Philippines address as my account address.
Does anyone know if any of the prepaid or credit card companies will accept applications from UK citizens who do not currently have a UK residential address?0 -
hi everyone, going away soon and was just wondering if anyone has used these prepaid cards and how they found them.
i think i like the idea of not having lots of cash on me , but worried about knowing where im up to ,
any advise or opinions will be greatly recieved thanks0 -

I'm looking for a prepaid card that I can load cash onto via the internet and give to the carer that does the shopping for my mother-in-law.
However, it needs to be one that doesn't allow them to get cash out of an ATM.
Anybody know of such a card?
Thanks
Can be trusted to look after mother-in-law but can't be trusted with a few quid of a pre-paid card?0 -
What about the 'cash plus' mastercard? anyone got one of those? and are they any good? i heard you have to pay £4 a month just to have the card? 0_o

If an electoral register search is made to confirm one's address, which probably will be, it will be picked up by debt collection agencies (DCAs) and will be an unwelcome lead to where you live! (Assuming the bar- stewards are chasing you and don't know where you are!).0

I am looking for this too. I have a son with learning difficulties who is quite capable of shopping for his own clothes etc. However if he has easy access to cash, he spends it stupidly.
This type of card used to exist, but seems to have disappeared. I did once find an American bank card on line which was ideal - it had full parental control so that you could limit or disallow cash withdrawal, and view activity on line.
Anybody know of any card that can limit cash withdrawal?0 -

You have the choice of paying £0.99 per transaction OR £4.95 flat fee per month. These can both be waived if you meet certain top up requirements though.0 -
Prepaid cards are a rip off - all of them.0

Cards that can be used only at individual retailers exist - for example an ASDA gift card can be bought and then topped up for continued use.

Has anyone renewed a Cashplus card and know what the "modest fee" is that their T&C's say they charge when issuing a new card at renewal?0
