Cloning a Sim card
Sorry if there's already a topic on this.
My Samung D600 is not compatible with the mobile handsfree system that is built in to my car.
Is there a way at all that I would be able to clone my mobile number on to another sim - so that I could still keep the same number both with me and on my car phone ?
Or any other suggestions would be gratefully heard !!
Cheers
Billie

Due to the encryption used, it's not actually possible to do this with a UK SIM card. Vodafone offer a service where you have two SIM cards with the same number. From memory, it costs between £10-£15 extra per month for this service. I seem to remember that Orange introduced something along the same lines fairly recently as well.billie19 wrote:Or any other suggestions would be gratefully heard !!
Hope this helps.

I'm not sure about the legalities of cloning sims either in the UK, so I would advise people not to start posting links to software etc
there are threads about this on

I'm sure I heard that this was technically possible - but the first time you accidentally have both phones on at the same time your mobile company would get worried and shut down your account0

Orange do have a scheme, as do some networks in other countries.
There are apparently SIMs that can store several SIM details on them, but this is a different motive. In reading about these however, you may learn that more modern SIMs are very much more difficult to decode, and may even be destroyed in the attempt.
So, unless it is an official product from the network, and for the reason that sra mentions, I'd forget it. Either swap the SIM between phones, or get a new car kit.0 -
The simpliest option would be to turn off you Samsung & prior to doing so "Divert ALL calls to the car phone" People would still ring your Samsung but would then be diverted to the car phone number.

it is legal to clone your sim card but not many sims can be copied now, also if you were to switch both phones on(1 with orig and 1 with clone) the network would switch them off. I used to have an orange sim and a bt sim copied onto 1 wafer card to save me carrying 2 phones but that was a few years ago. simscan software and a card reader writer is all you need but you have a good chance of killing yuour sim these days so I wouldn't bother0
