Free Mobile Phone Repairs
Wasnt sure where to post this so hope its in the right place.
I purchased a Nokia Phone (PAYG) from orange on 27th December last year, it has developed a problem with the sound and the vibration so i was gonna go buy a new one (it was only cheap and its about time)...but then i found the reciept and as a new phone isnt top of my list at the moment bt a working one is i popped into my local orange store.
They said it could be fixed and seen as ive got my reciept they could send it off for £15. But then the guy slighly got me to one side (a student type), he whispered quietly but if you take the same reciept into The Carphone Warehouse (literally nextdoor) they are obliged to send it off for repair for free.
Now i dont know if this is some kinda agreement theyve got with Nokia, but it was definately an orangeshop reciept i took in, and there isnt even a charge when i comes back either. The reciept has to be within the 12 month warranty.
Figured people may want to know this to avoid paying the £15 surcharge as im sure its not just me that can do without buying a new mobile with the current financial situations.
Any more comments on this will be great, like can you take phones from 02shop in to carphone warehouse for a free repair?? and does it have to be a nokia phone?? where else repair phones for free??

You went to a Carphone Express center - if you're near one, these guys are great, helped me out a few times

Recent Nokias come with a 24 month warranty so you shouldnt be charged for a repair wherever you take it ( assuming that it is handset problem and not been damaged by user).
It is very common for CPW shops to be designated Nokia repair centres( in my local experience ) and they will fix or attempt to fix a Nokia regardless of which Airtime supplier you are with.0
