I am on TV/Phone package with NTL paying £21.50 for the basic tv channels and just a phone. They offer this for new customers £19.99 plus they give free local calls off peak. I was wondering if any other members have been successful before I make that call to Customer Services.

NTL will probaly match deal rather then risk using you. They desperately need to hold on to punters.I take it that you have read this thread. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=79351PF.0

Thanks for that pricefighter. Yes I did read that thread but they were all on different tariff's to mine and the misses kept on saying that the deal was an enticement for new customers only. But heh, I can always rely on this forum. :T0

Dunno, they were arsey with my mum when she looked into getting the 3 for £30 deal I'm on. She's paying more for old-style cable (i've got digital) and only 1MB BB.
Also, they had been charged her £15 pm for dial-up internet on a landline which we'd got rid of 2 1/2 years ago! Back when we used it, it was only £5 pm as well, they'd increased it twice without notifying her. And they won't refund it (she should've noticed it, but there's that many direct debits going out her bank she didn't - the perils af DDs and paperless billing) She's not pleased with them either cos she thought she still got free evening and weekend local calls (like when it was Diamond Cable), she didn't realise she was paying for them!!
Scrutinise every bill from them!!0 -
I know, it took me 2 months to get £2 credit from their billing mistake.

Tell them you are thinking of leaving and using alternative suppliers . No harm in mentioning MSE site, and how people have managed to secure decreases in prices.PF.0

I made that call................and they gave me the deal that I asked for!!! :j
They were so friendly that I'm just thinking that maybe I should have asked for that little bit more.
But I got what I wanted.0
