Pretty sure an episode of The Office had the old stamp being money conversation and i think it is legal tender.

Even if you only state £ sterling what were your accepted payment methods? Pretty sure i've never seen stamps and an option though

I put clearly ...cheque, postal order, cash or paypal..no stamps to be seen!
    :p:p Angel :p:p
  • there you go then.. just send them back and request proper payment

Angelcake, apart from their inability to add up I do think you are moaning about nothing.

You are going to incur £4.43 in postage and they've sent you (roughly) £4 in stamps. Why is this a big deal to you?

Ask them to send you the missing stamps or money and then USE THE DAMN STAMPS POSTING THE STUFF TO THEM!

If they send a £2.19 postal order why? not just get one for the full thing?! If they had a probelm with my postage they should email me! >:(

It doesn't matter how much it is! its the principle! You wouldn't get something in a shop if you had offered stamps or even money less then it is! I am not a hard person ...If they had added some sort of note explaining their actions then I woulda responded better! I think they are just ignorant. They agreed to confirm the bid, which is a contract to the whole auction I don't write a lot in my listings just simple and in times font 18 so it can't be misunderstood! (Well I thought it wouldn't!)

AND DON'T SHOUT AT ME!!!! :'(

I'm only shouting cos I find this whole whinge a bit tiresome. It makes no difference to you if you get stamps which are less than the amount of stamps you are going to use - that's my point. So why moan on?

I sell on ebay too (occasionally) and wouldn't have thought twice about this being an inconvenient way for them to have paid. The only people who would be (slightly) inconvenienced are those who exaggerate P&P to defraud ebay and mis-represent the competitiveness of their item's price to their potential customers - I realise that you are not one of these, but there are many such about.

Well go poke your nose in someones elses thread not one that is very obviously a whinge......TITLED " GRRR Payment in stamps"

I asked for constructive advice not an obvious point! It couldn't have been that tiresome if you took the time to put caps lock on and send me such a helpful reply!

How kind of you to realise I am not "one of these" that would inflate prices to avoid ebay fees. I feel so much better about the whole situation now. Thanks ::)

    ;D Can't wait for you to get a problem!!! ;D :o

Angelcake, I agree, your buyer should have contacted you first. He might have been ripped off before by other sellers with p&p and that's why he sent the stamps, but he knew what you accepted as payment and should have checked before he even bid on your item.
