You only need more than 1 remote if you play muti-player games that require you both (or up to 4) to play at the same time. You can play most wii sports games using one remote to start with. The boxing requires the nunchuck.
The TV needs to by on AV channel 3 I believe. I just pluged the av cables to the sockets and selected the AV3 channel on the TV and the wii picture was displayed. There may be options on the remote to change the AV channel to 2 or 3.0 -
The AV channel that she needs is dependant on her TV not the Wii. Dont go to AV3 and expect it to be working if, for example, the wii is plugged into the 4th, 5th etc AV connector. My TV has something like 7 AV channels, with the ones on the side and the front being named last.0

The multiplayer versions of tennis, boxing and baseball all need 2 remotes, with the boxing needing 2 nunchuks as well - bowling & golf should be ok with one.
If you wanted to, you could always pick up a copy of Wii Play (another 9 games on a single disk) and get another controller thrown in with it, then you'd only have to buy one more nunchuck. Wii Play usually goes for around £34.99, and the nunchucks between £15 & £20 I think. Might be something to ask of a relative if you didn't want to get it yourself - I'll be buying my parents Wii Play as they've got themselves a Wii to keep the grandkids entertained when they visit :rotfl:Where there's a will, there's a way to get something cheaper from somewhere else!!

Personally I don't think it's worth getting Wii Play, the games are pretty poor. The only one that was played much when we got it was Cow Racing.
I think it is necessary to get the extra remote and nunchuck as it is far more fun playing against other people.
Amazon do Nunchucks for £15 and remotes for £28, I'd also say to get the official controllers. Some of the aftermarket ones have a poor reputation. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
But you can get Wii play with a wii mote for about £26/£27, so you get the additional games and a wiimote. There was an offer a little while ago for a wiimote/wii play for £27. No brainer really when the wiimotes cost the same.
But yes, wii play is a bit pants.0
