Hi All
With rates dropping so fast I haven't got a clue where to put my recently received Icesave money, I need instant online access, I've been looking at all the best buy's but as I say unsure which best at the moment.
Any ideas or views from anyone who has opened a similar account recently would be appreciated.
Cheers

Northern Rock 5.15% (at the moment)
Opened quickly, no trouble at all.
I've just opened the Easy Saver 2012 with Lloyds TSB. I'm already a customer and just wanted somewhere to put money from my current account when it is looking healthy. I can deposit and withdraw instantly, and you have the option of a cashpont card.
Interest rates pretty rubbish though :rolleyes:0 -
yeah i was just looking at northern rock but it says its rates are currently under review so you can bet they will be dropping very soon. tbh ive given up chasing rates.there doesnt seem to be much point as any accounts that are offereing decent rates prob just means they are in that position because they havent ajusted their rates yet to match everyone else that has. so within days/weeks they will be ajusting and you will end up with no better or even worse rates than another account you may have been looking at b40

Principality BS (who I also have an account with

Gee whizz, just opened one of these! -- sent chq today. Where did you see the rate drop? Oh well, another one to add to my growing warehouse of esavers
Yorkshire's still offering 4.5%/3.6%, but for how long...
As for ISAs, seems we'll all be stuffed by the time Icesave certificates filter through. Principality's was one I was thinking of, but if the eSaver's coming down that will as well.
Wonder why I keep thinking of (really) old TV programmes... No Hiding Place, The Fugitive...~cottager0 -

If you can lock away your ISA funds for a year, you should be able to open a Halifax fixed one-year ISA now (currently 5%). If you are transferring in, they will guarantee the rate for 60 days from when you set up the account to when the funds arrive.I want to move to theory. Everything works in theory.0 -

Thanks Pandora. Yes, I've just opened one there for the current year, but it looks like it'll be about the best bet for the Icesave funds as well, given they'll hold it open for so long (surely won't take any longer than that for the certificates... will it??!!). Better do it now before the rate goes...~cottager0
