i have just received an email from them, my order was processed and my card had been deducted, so looks like i'm not getting my item even then, and will be getting my money back... thankfully just got it thru Amazon, hope refund is quick though!!!
Dear zavvi customer,
Due to the current issues with the supply of products from our main supplier
Entertainment UK (part of Woolworths Group plc), we have temporarily suspended
taking online orders for affected products.
In this situation, we are unable to guarantee delivery in time for Christmas
and as a result we are cancelling the order you have recently placed. We feel
this is the fairest course of action for our customers under the circumstances.
You will shortly receive a formal cancellation notice from our systems for
any affected orders. Please be assured that if we have taken payment you will
receive a full refund.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused, and thank you for your
custom. We look forward to serving you again at zavvi.co.uk in the very near
future.
If you would like the most up-to-date information regarding the situation or
would like to contact us please visit zavvi.co.uk and click 'help'. Please
do not reply to this email.
Regards

Thats all making sense now - I was in Asda at the weekend & whilst I was bored in the queue, I was reading the sheet on the till next to me (I can read upside down quite well!) I think they call it the "huddle sheet" or something, it seems to be a list of points to make staff aware of.
It said there would be problems with "M & V" (presumably music & video) because EUK had gone into administration - didn't realise who EUK were till I read this post.
It also said that customer numbers were down 9.? percent last week (can't remember the exact figures) so lets hope it works in our favour with better offers to tempt us in!! After all, their press release for their reduction in fuel prices today states:
Asda trading director Darren Blackhurst said: "We're determined to lower the cost of Christmas for our customers, and that includes making fuel more affordable.Everything I wanna do is either illegal, immoral or fattening! lol :rotfl:0 -
i think morisons are quite lucky, as we have or had 2 suppliers, all the chart stuff on all formats came from EUK, but all the cheap stuff(i.e all the dvds games, cds that are like a £5) come from MBL(Music Box Leisure), who in this circumstance have starting sending in all the chart stuff as well now, so hopefully there shouldn`t be too much disruption, in the short term at least, DaveTake every day as it comes!!0

It just goes to show how inter connected the big stores really are!
Like a deck of cards....
I shop old school with cash at my local stores - no worries ! As for vCJv and the bday problem, when it comes to bday's always make sure you have it. You can always take the extra one back.
Good luck.0 -
I ordered a DVD box set from Zavvi, then recieved the email as posted above. I was told they would cancel my order. Yet I go into order status, it is "in progress" and my card has been charged, there is no option to cancel the order manually. This was days ago.
I try to ring Zavvi but no one picks up, for days. I send several emails asking for them to cancel my order and I get no response.
Methinks they are going under too and I am about to issue a chargeback on my credit card.0 -
