Aohell Are Rip Off's!!

so i signed up for the laptop deal last december, and ever since have had nothing but trouble with it!!, it started a couple months ago, which was around august, they accused me of not paying a bill, which is completely wrong because i never miss a bill, they started 2 take more money out of my account each month when i foned them they had said it was due to premium numbers that's why the bill had gone up. it then came to october, and they had charged my normal bill £34.99 but they take around extra 5ver! but then 2 days later they charged me a further £64.....aparently this was due to not paying august's bill, when i know i did because it was on my statements, anyway after constant phonecalls to them battleing them for my money back, i not only got made to look stupid, but i was acused of lying!! they told me that i had made a mistake and that i should go to my bank, i had already done this and i had already checked my statments countless time's over, i then got through to some one who said the £64 wont come out,and it will just be my normal bill, i knew it wouldn't be right but i let it lie to my next bill, september came when the bill came out, looked on my bank and i saw aol services and when i saw the amount they took i was gobsmacked!! £140 they had taken out of my account, i was straight on the phone and they said that they had taken 2 bills which i haden't paid,-WHICH I HAD!!-then they said it was that month's bill aswell, i was fuming, and demanded to speak to the supervisor,it took me to get through to 4 people for eventually to be put through the supervisor and she was a big fat NO HELP what so ever, she then told me to tell her the dates on my statement, and then she said oh yeah you're right!! -matching her's so after all this and they knew i were in the right they just wanted to take my money!!! they knew what they were doing, and they are nothing but rip off con artist's, this is no accident on billing its FOBBING ME OFF!! and im fed up with it and im sure loads of other people are too.
they have no right to do this.

suggestions on what to do would be so appreciative.

thanks.

put it in paragraphs so its easy to read
  • I have had similar problems with AOL. I signed up to the free laptop offer in August but never actually received anything, no laptop, no router, no broadband, no nothing. I paid them £49.98 for an upgrade on the laptop plus delivery charge and when I did not receive anything despite repeated calls to them I finally gave up and demanded cancellation of the order and a refund of my money.

I cannot tell you how many calls I have made since the end of Sept trying to get this money back. They said that because I cancelled my DD (and why wouldn't I, they aren't providing me with anything to pay for!) they did not have any bank details to refund the credit to (apparently they 'don't do' cheques!) - I gave them my account details and they said it would take 20 working days for the BACS transfer to go through.

20 days later I ring to enquire why my money is still not in the account and they tell me they have not got my bank details!
After a heated conversation during which I spoke to a supervisor who said he would escalate my complaint and refund within 5 days, I gave them (at their request) my bank card details as they said this was the quickest way to process the refund...only to find that 5 days later they had deducted a further £17.98 from my account!!

The bank cannot recall the cash as it was logged as a card payment, in my opinion this was fraudulent use of my card as I did not authorise payment.

I sought advice from CAB and was given a phone number to ring where a nice chap gave me the exact wording to quote on a letter of complaint, I have sent this recorded delivery and can only hope that this has the desired effect and gives me ALL of my money back.

    The number was 0845 404 0506 - Consumer Direct.

I have given up trying to converse with these idiots now and will only in future deal with them by letter as I get too wound up by their constant lies and deception.

    Kind regards.

You could make a formal written complaint as Concorde has done, and in the event of no reply/no satisfactory outcome, refer it to CISAS for a decision.
