Sealed Pot Challenge 2 "The Return"

OK guys, sorry but the wheel’s come off. Essentially a bill too big to ignore came in, and at work we either had to be made redundant or all take a pay cut. With debts and less money I simply can’t justify having a savings pot, I have to clear the large bill, and I can’t afford to pay in to feed my pots with my wages as they are now. So sense has taken over from fun, and my pots all were ceremoniously smashed at the weekend. I paid £25 to the charity we agreed to save for, and the other two combined made us £125 towards our debt. Maybe next year things will pick up and I shall join the saving ranks again, who knows…….. it’s been fun and I wish you all the best for your tins and pots and pigs in December.

A really warm welcome to the thread Itsarandom. It's great to meet you.
Enjoy yourself here and have great fun saving. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 2 of page 1, it's a good idea to put them on your signature and certainly helps me to help you at the end of the year. If you haven't already done so then read through posts 1 & 2 as it'll help you with any queries.

You please yourself when you save until and what you save for. Most of us are saving for Christmas 09, but some have times that are much for meaningful and important to them, and it's that which counts! You go for your camping holiday by all means.
blondy24, it doesn't matter what you put in, and 47p is good, especially as I have none to put in today. Still, every little penny helps so you save each and every one and be proud that you are! focus888 says exactly what I do, good for you focus!
Bad luck indeed Sams! I can see your point and it's a case of 'needs must', but if you change your mind or finances pick up, you know where we are and you'll still be on the list...and most welcome!
So pleased to hear you had such a wonderful holiday MSFC, can only imagine what it must have been like! Have just got back from Brittany where we had great weather when England had rain!
Have a great though wet Wednesday.

I have to confess to not putting money in my pot today which I should have done.
Went to pay my car parking to go do some mystery shops and the machine was being awkward, and wouldnt let me put my money in to it, then after cancelling and starting again my coin just fell through...dropping two other shiney £1 coins in to the coin return tray with it.
I mentally earmarked them for my bottle but popped in the B&M's between two parts of a shop and spotted those metal tin money boxes you can only open with a tin opener for 99p each, so nabbed the two least bashed up ones for future challenges (I now have a £20 note version on my window ledge- filling with £2 coins- and the £5 and £10 ones alongside as yet empty). It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Don't worry poor - at least you've started again - that's the main thing.
I put a large golden coin in my pottie yesterday.
I seem to have lost a bit of my dfw mojo since going back to work:o I've been rubbish at selling my stuff on ebay - even though I've still got a big old pile of things. Hmmmm! I really need some motivation.
Welcome newbies - and good luck with the challenge - it must be good as it's the only one I've stuck with recently:eek:
Good to see you Sue - where have Elsie and Kas got to? holidays?

Well I can see the SUN and it feels warm!!! It has been promised for at least three days so perhaps we could get the paddling pool out later.
I have been putting pennies in my pot sorry its only pennies
School holidays cost a fortune! But they are fun. The little ones have all had swine flu one after the other Why do they do that? You get one better then the next one goes down with it.
Well off to make the most of to-days sun Will try and catch up later.

My target from now till 01.12.09 is £125.00
We save our copper but it never seems to add up to much so now I want to really go for it as Xmas is fast approaching and with 2 children we are finding things really really hard this year as I'm sure some of you are also.
