Decided today that my dog needs some road walks as his claws are getting long and we have never had to have them clipped at the vets, so I plan to take him out in the mornings probably in to the village and back, so will use the chance to do some road kill hunting.

Put a few small clunks in to my bottle this week, but as I havent taken any money out of the bank I've not had much to put in, need to go to the pub after work in Thursday though so will need to get some out before then (its a meeting of the club linked to my work place and the club chairman is going to be explaining a some new legislation to the members - but me and my boss know that he doesnt understand it so is going to get it wrong and potentially get the business in to a lot of trouble so we're going to make sure we correct him), and my male should be home this weekend so I'll get back to emptying his trouser pockets as well.

Day 2 of the sealed pot challenge for me and I found a few more odd coins lurking round the house / in drawers so in the pot they went! :j

I have decided that as and when I throw away an item of food, I will put the amount that item of food cost me in my pot. Hopefully that will ensure that I don't overbuy or buy things I dont really eat/enjoy and are just bought so they can sit in my fridge looking pretty :rotfl:

Although Im not going to keep track of what I put in my pot, I will keep track of what I put in the pot in respect of thrown away food so that come the end of the year, I can see how much I wasted. Should be interesting..... Time and time again I buy something (typical example kiwis) and as Im putting them in my basket, Im saying to myself, these will be eaten and not thrown away and what am I doing 3 weeks later..... throwing them away.

Sorry Ive gone off topic slightly but I just thought I would share :D
  • Could I join please, or is it too late. BR day 3rd Feb 2009. But after that would love to put some money away for Christmas 2009. I am 'ATWHITZEND', by the way. I have just joined the site today.
  • £1 in my pot today!! And only have 2 cola cubes left to eat so I can start a 'silver coins' jar!!

Is anyone else making a note of how much they have put into their tins? I use a felt tip pen to place a dot on the tin when I know I've put £5 away, this way, I'll know roughly when I've got enough saved for my Samsung Netbook etc..

Pestered Mum for change today, waved a £20 note at her asking how many £1 coins she had :)

I broke a £10 note today to buy carrots and broccoli, and the guy apologised and said that he didn't have any £5 notes, so would coins be ok!! Sure thing!! And low and behold I got 3 nice shiny £2 coins in my change, so they've gone straight in the pot, yay!
