got my first 'sort of' roadkill today, 20p on the floor in a shop, hooray:jplus got lots of change (didnt count it, in too much of a hurry to get cracking with things while the mood took me) from buying a sarnie (treat for doing my ebay parcels and springcleaning dd1 room again), post office and buying my friend some cigs.x

  • Hi all, decided to join this challenge as I'm always tempted to open my piggy bank and 'borrow' a few £. I mostly save 1-20ps but have popped a few £ coins in as a feel guilty today for breaking into a £ note to buy coffee, so the rest of the fiver went in the pot. I'm aiming for £100 this year to cover me spending in the sales next year! Haha. I cheated slightly and counted up my change before putting it in my nice new piggy bank and have saved over £18 since the 1st of this month :)

Piggy is about half full so I think I'll be cheating slightly with this challenge and deposit into the bank when the pig gets full and just keep a total of what I have deposited so I know what I should put aside in my online banking for my spending spree!

Thank you for the motivation... and also I walk 2 miles too and fro from work and also spend most of my shift walking so I think I'll start looking out for change, will be exciting if I find some, I've not often had much luck hehe.
    :A
    Saving for my future...

  • LuckyCharlie - the trick with the football is not to actually go in to the match. once all the drunk punters have wandered into the ground, wander around the ground. There's loads of change on the floor from where they've tried to pay for hotdogs, burgers etc..... lol

Thank goodness for that DH did not want to take me said I would be bored and probable talk all the way through it and he wouldn't be able to sing (thats funny didn't know he could) Will now offer to take him but will need a torch cos its an evening match anyone spotting a mad women searching the floor with a torch don't worry its me trying to get in teachers good books:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi everyone. Even though I missed the sign up date, I'm doing my own sealed pot. Basically saving all my £2 coins as well as my silver to a certain extent so that I don't end up with lots of 1p's and 2p's to get rid of. I also find that carrying less change around I'm not spending as much and finding ways to cut back on my spending! Wishing everyone here good luck with the challege! We can do it!

Welcome to the challenge miss_keep_counting, ruby_eskimo (I take it you'd like to join in with us as there is no limit to when you can sign up by!?). Good to 'meet' you both. :D Enjoy yourselves with the challenge, it's very addictive so be warned! You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 1 of page 1, read through posts 1 & 2 as it'll help you with queries.

Apologies Kerfuffle, I forget about you being in BC!....Hi Molly, do try not to stress about it, a friend of ours had it all done and even had some cash left over!! You don't need to buy the most lavish of paper/paint etc and it should easily stretch to floor coverings too. Look ahead to a lovely home when it's done, they made hers look amazing:D - after the messy parts which is bound to happen!....Tea - you're just lucky and I've decided to forgive you, twas the last one that did it!!! dunno who's the daftest thee or me! :confused:Glad you're behaving well again too elsie!!:A.....Good luck with the 'goat pot' as well as your own sams, it sounds like a wonderful idea and is good to give. Listen to what sparky says though as Sainsbury's certainly do take a whopping 8% of your money!!!....Hi young Jess. Don't think of it in 'being a mountain to climb', you're still so very young and will shed it a lot faster than most of us who are a teeny bit older! The most important thing is to build up the muscles that have slackened, but I reckon you'll do that well and look so beautiful a lot sooner than you think, but I still say - don't rush - it's unhealthy. Work slowly at it and exercise well!!!:j:j:j

Have a great Thursday (Friday for Kerfuffle!) everyone, a better, wet again later, but....!! Happy saving.

Sue For any new friends wishing to join us, please just ask and I'll be with you ASAP.
