I did about 10 years ago find £100 near a car. I went to the house it was near and asked the man if he had lost anything. He said no. I asked him to check his pockets and when he did his face dropped a mile. MONEY was the only word he said. I handed it to him and his wife who was just behind him clouted him, quite hard! I've told you hundred times not to put loose money in your pocket she screamed, as they shut the door. I didn't even get a thanx, but I did giggle all the way to the car. i did wonder what he would have got if the money had been permanently lost. Poor chap!

My husband is a gardener and often gets paid in cash/cheques which he puts in his pocket. The amount of times he has lost them and we spend hours searching the truck and retracing his footsteps at all the places he went to after he was paid! He has learned his lesson now! Well done you for being so honest - I bet they were grateful even though they were too shocked/angry to say so at the time! :rotfl:

Thanks for my member number Sue UU ....

So i've officially started my first Sealed Pot Challenge. I've made my pot out of an empty Haribo Sweet Tube and secured it with LOTS of tape to prevent temptation!!

I deposited my first 75p today which I found on the floor whilst cleaning the house.... my OH always drops his money ... so Finders Keepers is my motto!!

I'm going to set myself a Target of £150, I havent a clue if i'll save that much but I guess i'll find out in approx 11months time!!

  • Hey all,

Ive had a really bad spend weekend, but ive caught up with old friends that i hadnt seen for a while and had a really, really good time so i gues its all worth it - and if i hadnt been working so hard to save and spend less then i guess i would not have been able to do anything in the first place lol.

A few pennies in the pot - but i HAD to spend 2 x £2 coins yesterday - i was so unimpressed!!! the notes thingy on the parking meter was broken so i had to use change and the only thing i had was those £2 coins, i actually winced when i put them in the slot :(

But this is another week and its time to look for the road change and save, save save.

Junior i hope your first week on SW has gone ok :)

    xxxx

2p roadkill when we went for a walk this afternoon and a small handful of pennies from ds.

Anyone else gone to pick up coins and find they are super glued to the floor :rotfl:. In town now I tend to nudge them with my foot first.

  • is for my spare change which iadd to every night by rounding down whatever is in my purse to the nearest pound and adding the excess to the change jar

Yikes - I thought it was only me that did that. Have been doing it for about 15 years - it used to really annoy my ex missus. Ha well :cheesy:.

I have only just stumbled across this part of the MSE forum, but I had already decided that 2009 was the year for me to save, so can I join the challenge as well ? Must admit, I have not had a great start to the New Year as I crashed my car last Monday, skidded on ice and it cost me 350 pounds to fix, someone hit the hire car I had and drove with cost me 650 quid (I was trying to save money so didnt have the excess waiver - doh) and then had to call out a locksmith to fix my front door after I got locked out on Friday night. Oh well - I will start again today.
