Hi joanie
Someone else posted on here that as long as you are paying it in to an account the banks will accept any amount of change its only when you want to exchange it that they limit you. Resounding no no on coinstars at the supermarket it seems, they charge a lot for you using it which I didnt realise till I read on here.Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T
2020 the year of less - Less debt, less waste, less spending, less stuff, less stress!0 -
Not the case around us -- most banks will only take 3 bags into an account, with exceptions for accounts held by children and charities.
I bank with Co-Op, and they'll take as many as I take in -- subject to them being correctly bagged in proper coin bags.
Alternatively, if your Mr T or Mr A has a 'self scan' then go shopping at a quiet time and feed them into thatI did a shop a couple of months back where I fed almost a fiver of small change (nothing larger than a 5p) into one of these, and the lass supervising the area thought it quite funny

thanks CW18.... looks like it depends where we live as to whether the banks will take it or not.....
my mum and I usually save 2p coins and then when we pop over to the seaside (only 8 miles away) we can have an hour or two on the amusements with my son for "free" but even they will not change a bag of 1p or 2p coins to a higher value - even if you want it for one of their 50p machines!Declutter challenge 2023.
