  • Bit late in the day but canI join in too please? I made my piggy using Nykmedia's paper mache recipe (named him Wiggins) about a month ago but didn't get around to joining. He's very heavy already. No special target but it'll probably be for christmas if I haven't done it all by December 2009

Confession time - I was naughty and didn't put my grandad's £5 present to me and DD in the pot at the time, used it when we went out to the ballet last Sunday; it had been eating me up all week that I'd gone back on my promise to myself, so last night I realised I had £5 plus change in my purse, so in it all went.

I agree with the bemusement about having a sealed tin and knowing exactly what's in there, personally if I wanted to know how much was in it, I'd have a separate savings account and put the money straight in there and earn a miniscule amount of interest. But hey, what works for everyone is great by me :):)

I'm going for the secrecy option and as I'm already getting presents when I see bargainous good things for everyone for next year's birthdays/Christmas, I might have to treat myself to the contents of the sealed pot for something totally frivolous and completely for me as it'll be "free money".

Blimey, I do like to waffle on don't I.....sorry!!

Lol Kittikins... you have to treat yourself once in a while, but you made up for the £5!!! It's good to talk :D:D:D

Well would you believe it, a stroke of pure coincidence perhaps!
My new housemate walked in today with a money box and handed it to me.

Just what i was after! So i have my first 6 clunks as the guy overcharged me in Sainsburys so i had some loose change

What a result! I may even put the money i was going to spend on a money box towards the fund :)

    Hope everyone else is well

  • Got a second tin this weekend - decided to have that for 1p, 2p and 5p coins, and anything 10p and up could go in the bigger tin.

Went to the pub last night and got 3 £2 coins in my change so they went in the big tin along with a few 20ps. I had a fair few 20ps but gave some to my sister so she could change a bag for a £10 note at the bank tomorrow. I am all heart ;)
