TalkTalk Landline to Mobile Charges

Has anybody else fallen foul of the this problem with TalkTalk?

I have copied the following extracts from the TalkTalk website describing their new mobile service. When I enquired why I was being charged for calling my son's mobile, given that I am a TalkTalk landline user and he is a TalkTalk mobile user, I was told the only landline that can call him for free is his own home TalkTalk landline. This is not what the blurb says and I think this is totally misleading by TalkTalk. He can call any landline for free but only his landline can call him for free apparently. If you read TalkTalk advertising below this is not what is said and I have scanned the T&Cs, all the text and Q&A and I can't discover this fine distinction anywhere. I think they either need to change the detail in the website to point this out or allow any TalkTalk landline to call any TalkTalk mobile right away.

TalkTalk customers are now also eligible for our new TalkTalk Mobile service...
Unlimited free calls to and from any TalkTalk landline or mobile!

Great savings when compared with other mobile networks and landlines

TalkTalk Mobile is easy to use and gives you the same great value and service you get with TalkTalk Landline. That means:

Unlimited free calls between all TalkTalk Landlines and your TalkTalk Mobile and vice versa.

Q. Where can I make free calls to and from?
A. You’ll get free calls between any TalkTalk Landline and any TalkTalk Mobile and vice versa.

Free Calls” means those calls which are either, made to a TalkTalk mobile SIM Card number from a customer of the TalkTalk CPS Service or are made from a TalkTalk mobile SIM Card number to a customer of the TalkTalk CPS Service. For the avoidance of doubt, Free Calls do not include any calls between customers using Mobile Phones whether such calls are made on the TalkTalk mobile Network or any other mobile network

Can you get TalkTalk to give you written details of why they won't honour the deal?

I have just spoken to Talk Talk, he said that you dont get the frre calls from other talk talk land lines. I quoted the web site and he went off and checked with his manager. He then confirmed that the rules have changed and all of the calls are now free.

    Hope this helps

  • Thanks for your message re the problem I highlighted. I will now also call their helpline and verify your answer, not that I don't trust you, but they were adamant both gopher and manager that the web site was wrong. They were good enough to offer a refund on the two calls they charged me for but I now want to establish for me and my son that ALL calls are free from now on. Cheers

    In their T&Cs they say,
