    I don't know.
Ask this guy, seems to have £120k of CC debt + £150k mortgage

This blew me away. I couldn't breathe and had to close the window!

I went to have a look on this thread and was flabergasted, I posted on it but it appears that many of those on the thread appear to living on a different planet, and they wiped my post which condemned a scenario where this could happen. It is  UNBELIEVABLE AND INEXCUSABLE  that anyone can rack up the level of debts on here. If you look at the expenses you'd think that the guy had a pot of cash rather than owing it to the banks.

 IT IS TIME PEOPLE TAKE PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR ACTIONS. INSTEAD OF BLAMING ANYONE THEY CAN FOR THEIR FINANCIAL IRRESPONSIBILITY.

The OP of that thread earns £35K and has no children, and someone suggests 'Maybe you're entitled to benefits?'.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I normally wouldn't comment on anything DFW, it tends to be a tad too softly softly for me, but that has got to be a wind up ... hasn't it?

Unfortunately, those on benefits have no idea how the other (working) half live.
Because they've got rent/council tax paid and £1000 in their pocket each month, or work part-time for £500 and get nearly £1000 benefits top ups, they think everybody working will also get money for free too :)

    Bless.

PN, you missed a bit. The secured loans, taking secured debt up to £200k.
    Fook, I did!

I do find that SOA listing confusing though. It's not well laid out at all imho.

Now I need a lie down! TWO HUNDRED BIG ONES!!!
    Blimey.

What it does show is just how indebted a lot of people are, Brown may have gone on about 14% interest rates in the late '80's early '90's, yet we did come through that, if we were at 14% rates now their would be civil unrest without any doubt, repo's would be over 2 million.

Just proves how bad Browns economic policies have been, that we are heading for a worse state than we were in then with interest rates currently at a fifth of what they were.

It does not show that! it shows how one family is up to the eyeballs in debt.

Can we change that to those that have always been on benefits? I have been on benefits (I got about £200 a month, singleton!), but have also spent a fair amount of my years working, so can see both sides of the coin. ;)

I just can't imagine how anyone could accrue such debts, unless they are ill (I have bipolar, so know what excessive spending is!)? £200K accrued over ten years (and I have a feeling it would be less), £20K a year over and above earnings of £35K (plus whatever the wife was on) ...

    Oh my days! :p

That's what I suggested. I has got to be a wind up £200k down and still got SAT TV, 2 cars, mobiles, spent £5k on vet bills....... Whoever wrote it must be having a laugh ... they certainly don't like calling a spade a spade on that thread, too many hugs and pats on the back for those who are totally irresponsible for my liking.

Oooh dear you racked up £200k worth of debts and have nothing to show for it, what a shame, lets use some legal stuff and write it all off leaving the hard working prudent people of Britain to pick up the tab one way or another.

Too much !!!!!footing around rather than getting to the root of the problem that either 1. its a wind up 2. the person has had a bloody good time racking up that sort of debt, so its time to pay for IT.
  • You lot keep understating things.

It's £200k secured on the house AND £120k unsecured.
