I sent an item via Royal Mail International Signed For to a buyer over a month ago, I kept the buyer up to date with when I posted the item asked them to leave feedback so that I knew they have received the item. When I didnt get any feedback I assumed they were not into feedback so just left it as I didnt want to keep bothering them.
The buyer has just contacted me now to say he has not recieved the item!
I was just wanting your advice please on how I go about checking with Royal mail, I still have the receipt, thankfully, so please could you give me your knowledge.
Thanks in advance.

You can track and trace it using this site:
http://www.postoffice.co.uk/portal/po/track?catId=7800129
If he has received and signed for it, end of story!! You can send the buyer the link to the result page. If he hasnt you should send your receipt to the post office with a completed claim form (available for free from a post office) who will compensate for it. In the meantime send the buyer a refund if he genuinely hasnt received it.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -
Thanks for your quick reply. I have just check that and it came up your item no ........... has been passed to the overseas postal service for delivery! Any advice on what to do now?
Thanks again.0 -
Wait a little longer as one month isnt long to wait during the xmas period. But you can still fill in a claim form and get the ball rolling.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

Also signed for slows down the posting a lot afaik. What country was it sent to? I would email the buyer and give them the tracking number and tell them that you are enquiring to the post office.Accept that some days you're the pigeon and some days you're the statue.0

Plus keep talking to your buyer and explain the Xmas bit to them etc try and keep them onside for a bit longer.0 -
If it's something you've sent to the US, you can go onto the USPS website and track it on there - and presumably you should be able do that on the postal service websites of other countries.

AIRSURE is the only way to prove something's been delivered abroad
that only works for 29 countries
the only other way is fedex or something like thatmoney saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

They can't guarantee that the item will be tracked in all of those countries.
We track all Airsure items until they leave the UK. When they reach the destination country the item is handed over to that country's postal service as a priority item. However, because different countries have different delivery standards we cannot guarantee that the destination country's postal service will track your Airsure item all the way to delivery in every instance or always be able to provide a confirmation of delivery.0 -

And signed for does the same for the countries that airsure doesn't include.Accept that some days you're the pigeon and some days you're the statue.0
