BBC - Mortgage approvals still falling

Then you can present Location, Location, Location.
Poor girl. She has just had a baby, you know!
Don't like her opinions much (at all) but I don't think it's fair to slag off new mothers for carrying an extra pound or two!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
I don't think she's particularly fat at all, if she has a high body fat percentage I would probably guess most of it is nestled between her ears.0

Reminded of;
(copyright Douglas Adams), "So Long and Thanks for All the Fish";
"You can't sustain a story, you know, when the only news is the continuing absence of whatever the story's about. Not our territory anyway, try the Sundays. Maybe they'll run a little "Whatever happened to the Dolphins" story in a couple of years, around August. But what's anybody going to do now? "Dolphins still gone"? Continuing Dolphin Absence"? "Dolphins - Further days without them"? The story dies, Arthur. It lies down and kicks its little feet in the air and presently goes to the great golden spike in the sky, my old fruit bat".
Mortgage approvals still low. Mortgage approvals - where have they gone? Mortgage approvals - further weeks without them...?
The difference is that with low volumes, the motivated and distressed sellers are setting the prices for their area, instead of being lost among half a dozen other 'normal' sales for the area...
...then your job moves, and a mortgage valuer checks LR for your postcode, and that's the price of your house...0 -
NDG...
Any particular reason as to why you missed out probably the most important and relative point of that article??
Is it perhaps to paint a picture of doom and gloom just like the media are doing
She isn't the only one on here who wants to paint a picture of doom and gloom for her own mean gains. Most people can see through her. It's best to just ignore them.0 -

Suppose I stay the same size and weight by eating 2,000 calories a day.
Next month I eat 2,500 calories a day. The third month, 3,000. The fourth, fifth, and sixth months, 3,500 calories a day.
The top has been reached. But I will continue to gain weight until I am so large that I need 3,500 calories a day just to maintain that weight.
Each pound of body mass requires 15 calories a day to maintain. Thus 3500 calories/day will maintain a body mass of 16st 9lbs.
It's mind boggling to think that an extremely large person could be consuming 5,000 calories a day. Tour de France cyclists complain about having to eat about 6,000 a day, that it's hard to get that much food inside you.0 -

Back in the Day when I used to train hard (weights) I was 3500+ cals a day and was still loosing weight (Training just over 10 hours a week).
6,000 would be a nightmare.
The main problem is trying to get the food inside you enough time before training so it gives you the energy to train but not so close you nearly pass out and throw up.;)0 -

Chris Boardman (not exactly top TdF man either) used to reckon on losing about 20lbs on The Tour. He was consuming 6,000/day but needed 9,000/day to maintain his weight - a pound of fat is about 3,000 calories I understand.
I struggle to eat enough when I'm doing big rides. Fig rolls and cereal bars are my things. Not that I do anything remotely like the TdF.0 -

Quite belive it, I could be up to 1/2 stone lighter after a session but presumably most of that was through loss of fluids.
But It is a fine line between taking one enough fluids and to much.
The amount of times I would take slightly to much on and start to "white out" was stupid really, you would of thought i had learnt after doing it for 6 years.
In the end my back decided it had had enough (thank god
)
Need to get back to doing somthing though as I have good fat rerves at the moment to combat the resession.:D0 -

As if, im not that sad matey
I can argue on here til the cows come home, and i often do, so there is absolutely no point in me creating a 2nd account to do so:rolleyes:
My point was merely stating that sometimes things are missed out just to try and get your point across stronger.
I would not write that about NDG anyway, most of the time her points are very valid.0
