  • Well done dodger. What happened with your bank account? Did you have to open another one before or after seeing the judge. I am considering going brankrupt but don't know what would happen to my benefits and my home that i rent from a housing association.

    Hi scooby,
I opened a Co-op bank account 2 days before I went BR, so I didnt have to declare it and it would be up and running in a few days time. Just change ovr your benefit details to your new bank. The co-op are great and the account will be up and running in a few days. Good luck

  • sunk. I agree with you on that one. I have just downloaded the forms and i think it is going to be murder trying to fill it in so i am in two minds on it.

Thanks dodger for your advice on the co-op account. I take it you have to apply on line for it?

Hi scooby, benefits can be paid by giro until an account is set up, this is what I arranged with CB.
Housing Assoc is fine.....I informed my Housing officer just after BR & they were brilliant.
Whatever road you decide is best for you goodluck:beer:

  • dodger and sunk. How did you get on filling the forms in? Half of it i don't know what to put as my brain is shot. They want to know when/where etc you got divorced in the last 5 years. I did get divorced in the last 5 years but have no idea when it was.

Same with banks accounts. I have had a few over the last few years and have no idea of account numbers etc.

Make me think twice although if i don't go bankrupt i will have to do something.
