I've got the Babyliss ones as well. I have tried GHD's and Kudo's (sp?) before, and they are by far the best. You pay a hell of a premium on GHD's just for the name, and you can get just as good a product (if not better) for a third of the price.
    Gone ... or have I?

Ive been very pleased with the Babyliss ionic straighteners - never managed to use any before - I wanted them for body and they certainly give that.
  • The babyliss pro radiance are currently half price £49.99 on Boots.com however their site is down at the moment. I ordered some deodarant too for 49p to take it over the £50 and got 500 extra points.
  • I have the Babyliss straightners, and even if I do say so myself - my hair always looks lovely :rotfl: It's naturally curly, very thick and a bit of a nightmare to tame, but the Babyliss 230's get it under control in no time.

I'd LOVE one of those Jose Eber curling wands, but I'm not paying £80 to put the odd curl in my hair. I'll stick to trying to master it with the straightners and spend the cash on some new shoes
I don't believe in doing things the easy way..... :)

Amazon has upto 17% off ghd's at the mo.

I lurve the purple ones, but have some new bog standard ghd's for xmas (to replace my 4 year old ones. I use them pretty much every day and they still work, I just don't think they get quite as hot as they used to).

  • I really think you cannot beat GHDS ...I know they are more expensive but you wont be disapointed.

i've got the thickest, curliest hair and I use ceramic tech straighteners, they are fab. ive used mates GHD's for nites out and definately did not prefer them. Also used a mates Babyliss ceramic straighteners (not sure exactly which model, pretty basic ones thou out of Argos) and these were also fab.
For someone with hard 2 straighten hair, I wouldn't buy into the hype of GHD, sure they are brill, but there are plenty of less expensive sets that are as good, if not better!!!!!

  • I've got Babyliss Pro 230s and use them every day. They come with a 5 year guarantee which beats GHDs by a mile. Mine are about 2 years old and have never given me any bother. Everyone I know who has had GHDs has complained how they've broken just after the guarantee has run out. I have fine hair and only use mine on a medium heat - even with regular use I hardly ever get split ends.

Amazon are doing really good deals on them at the minute too.

I might just order myself a spare set while they're so cheap! The trouble is do I go for the same thing as I have, the Elegance or the Radiance? Hmm, decisions decisions!! :rotfl:

The wife's GHD's packed in a few weeks back. Was on the verge of buying her a new set but done a bit of research about them. It appears that a vast majority of them suffer from their lead going faulty. There's a guy on a well known auction site, from Scotland who repaired them for £14.95. Absolute bargain!!! Had them fixed and returned with 3 days. You pay the postage and Paypal him the £14.95. If you need his username etc let me know. Saved me a bundle!!!
