Possibly the 3 year old thread we're posting in at the moment?

It often bemuses me how people use the word hate. If you hate someone/ something for something so trivial, then you really need to get some perspective!

Lol, my nan always used to say that you must never "hate" someone but it's ok to "dislike them immensly" ;)

My Mp Lynne Featherstione is objecting to a lap dancing club being opened in N8.. this is what I replied....

    hi Lynne
I have read all your points against the proposed lap dancing club in Crouch end and still have no objection. Lap dancing I guess will take place at night when the churchgoers and school attenders will be at home or maybe in the case of HS4Girls, working late of their own choice at the lap dancing club. There is a 'massage parlour' on the hill very near Coleridge primary and I have seen what I can only assume are pimps hanging around outside, and I don't think they trouble anyone. I have it on good authority that weed is sold openly by the bus stop outside the car wash opposite the YMCA but the drug dealers don't bother me, and I use the bus stop outside Patels.

I object far far more to the Halifax bank trading in Crouch End. I wrote to you to say how they had tried to avoid paying my husband interest that was owing to him on various technicalities. He has had to make about 20 phone calls to try and sort it out. The stress has made him ill and he has hives. It is still not conclusively sorted. When he complained to his work colleagues it seems they were very sympathetic as many of them have had problems with the Halifax.
So please let the lap dancers be. They are only trying to make an honest living unlike the Halifax who are trying to make a dishonest living.

Seriously now, why don't you start a new thread about your many problems with HBOS?

UGH! Almost a month after I went into the bank with my receipt for my payment and being assured they would fix it-the payment still has not appeared on my credit card statement. As a result, I have another £50 fine! I have gone into my local branch and explained I have been into the branch where I made the payment (which by the way, is nowhere near where I live or work!) and that nothing is being done. The helpful worker emailed the original bank and asked them to phone me. One week later and nothing. Halifax has said they would take the fines off my account once BoS found the transaction. So I am not to worried there. But I am still very annoyed that I am paying interest on £100 pounds of fines. I am going to have to go in again to BoS and see if they will find the transaction. Since this is my second time going in and they have not called me, is it OTT to ask to be refunded for travel expenses as well as the interest I have paid?

Vast sums of Government money has been spent bailing out badly run banks. I have asked my MP Lynne Featherstone to not bother helping the Halifax branch at Crouch end N8 as they are so badly run.
They refuse to pay promised rates of interest on the excuse that there are technical problems with the account, which they did not tell me about at the time.
The Halifax bank phones me when I am working and never replies to my emails.

I started the account with a payment of £1 then phoned the Halifax to check that the £1 had arrived. When they said the money had arrived I paid the rest of the money. I phoned the Halifax before I did this was it ok to use this method to check BACS was working and was told yes. Now I am told, it wasn’t ok and I didn’t make a minimum deposit of £2500 so I have been allocated a minimum interest rate of 0.5% instead of the rate of 6.5% I was obviously aiming at. I say that the bank official misled me on this point, and should have made it clear that my actions breached the terms of the account and helped me put things right but to my astonishment I was told ‘It’s all organized by computer’ and people do not check to make sure it’s all going well.

This means I have been tricked out of £600 in interest payments.

I am very stressed by the behaviour of the bank and have come out in hives so my health is suffering.
My wife went to the Crouch End branch to check on the rate of her regular saver and was told it was making a very low rate of interest and closed it on the spot. At home she checked with the Halifax by phone and found the person in the branch had been incorrect so luckily they reinstated her account.

First Direct, the bank which has my current account feel so sad at the Halifax’s bad behaviour towards me they have given me a present of a bottle of wine and a box of sweeties for my children and they cannot believe that the matter is still unresolved.

So in reality the thread is 3.5 years old .... it would be much better to start your own thread, so people can help ...

I can happily confirm that Halifax Share Dealing is also giving you extra - inferior customer service. I can no longer obtain share dealing quotes through my account and despite reporting this 2 weeks ago and folllowing it up with phone calls, they have done nothing. Please save yourself a lot of hassle and never deal with these people for any aspect of your banking. They are incompetent, rude and provide hopeless levels of customer service. I have enough 'Customer Complaints - here's what we'll do' leaflets to wallpaper the entire house. Needless to say, I will not be using them again and strongly urge anyone else who has been on the end of their sheer incompetence to vote with your feet and leave. Please don't be conned by their stupid adverts and promise of money for joining them. At the other end of the spectrum, I would strongly urge moneysavers to try First Direct where possible. These people answer the phone within mere seconds, are very well informed and all speak excellent English.
