Has anyone used that film you can get that looks like frosted or stained glass?

My neighbour has this. It doesn't work. I can still see him in the shower.
  • Have a look at this, it's not cheap though

  • Thanks for all th feedback everyone.
The fitter came only with a little leaflet from pilkington glass, I was surprised to see all those obscure designs hadn't altered much over the decades, I did ask for alteranative suggestions but just got a very short "there are are few but very expensive" and that was the end of the conversation,

I have since decided to have a look myself for alternatives so thanks for the suggestions

This is very impressive. Not sure it would fit in with my humble terraced home. I couldn't see any pricing either.
  • Bought from www.gilafilms.com a few years ago, very good quality.

Try mixing some coloured emulsion with varnish and saw-dust and paint onto the window for a novel obscured glass effect (with texture).

    :D

  • Hi there, I own a company that creates the decorative glass for a lot of window and conservatory companies. Most of our trade customers charge the customer at home 3 times the price that we charge them for the glass so my advice would be to try phoning your local decorative glass manufacturers for a price for your ideas.

This type of glass doesn't have to be expensive as long as you are getting a good price directly from the manufacturer. If you want to get some ideas for your window, send me a message and I will give you my business web address so you can browse some standard designs along with some intricate designs and you may get a better idea of what you want. If you let me know where in the country you live, I may be able to put you onto a company that doesnt charge the earth

    Good luck
