Justamum they will use time as an excuse but why not make the pastry their first week, I'd put a letter in to school asking them why

Food Tech (still can't get my head round that one ) is part of DT so they only have about 6 (or is it 10?) weeks of it. Seems completely pointless to me really. They should have cookery as part of the curriculum and start teaching them to cook from scratch in a frugal/MSE/Oldstyle way :rotfl:. They are going to be making bread in a few weeks - but using a bread mix rather than getting the individual ingredients together .

Today my most major job is to remove all the badges from DSs cubs sweatshirt and attach them to his new (bigger) one  I may be some time . . . :rotfl:

    Emily~ have you left yet?

Sat here smiling, just had a pm from someone who tell me 'sounds like you know what you are doing' if only they knew what a panic I have really been in over something, but it is sorted now.

    Morning all.
Just a quickie to say hi.
Me and DS are still cold laden (and feeling miserable :confused::confused:) so not attempting to fly (luckily I posted all the parcels, got DS more medicine and cleaned the house top to bottom ss yesterday and also deep cleaned our bedroom - was at the 'feeling crap but can ignore it if keep busy' stage yesterday, today is the achy, shivery, hot and cold day), other than washing and dailies like eating, washing up, nappy changes etc.
:grouphug:Hugs :grouphug:to all who need them and take care in this weather all you who are out and about.
PigPen, hope you are feeling better :).

likklegibbon - did she treat it first, with oil or whatever you might have to do. My big frying pan is an old one so well worn in!

ashia - poor you! I'm lagging as well because of my back and lazyitis so it's not just you :(

    ZLS1984 - good luck!

Sorry if I've missed anyone, I was wanted to take them to school. DS1 was desperate that I take them and not Mr G as I'd only taken them once this week. Although thinking about it it's Wednesday so I've done it twice.

I remember doing cookery lessons at school. Was an all girls school so it was sewing and cookery and no woodwork etc which seemed much more exciting. However in cookery I did learn how to gut a fish, make pastry, make bread etc etc all from scratch. Think my cookery teacher would have had a fit with ready made stuff :rotfl: In sewing we learnt how to read a pattern and I made a "lovely" pair of trousers! Black material with a purple swirly pattern all over it...mmmm.

Right 2moz Wednesday 3rd Dec will be admitted at 2:00pm, I will be having a nasty horrible DDVAP injection. I hate this injection it hurts so much and cause so ill side effects. Just to give you a giggle this involves me going bright red lol. Then Thursday 4th I will be having my operation, got to phone in the morning to see about my bed, if I can get on I will let you know.

Best of luck with the jab today - hope it doesn't cause you too bad side effects, but if you get your op tomorrow and get it all sorted, I'm sure it will be worth it (although probably won't feel like it at the moment ;) )... hugs honey, this time next week it will all be over... fingers, toes and everything else crossed for you x :A
