Benefits/ Disability & Dosh

I wonder whether there could be a heading on these boards clarifying where posts about disabled people claiming benefits should go? It seems pretty daft when people posting a question about DLA on the Benefits board are advised to post it on Disability and Dosh instead.

I do think that this would be a good idea.

I was under the impression that the D&D board was about disabled moneysaving (and possibly day to day support?), as opposed to benefit entitlement. There do seem to be a lot of posts about benefit entitlement.

  • Have to agree with ONW and DMG,it would be far easier if any benefit threads on D&D were moved to benefits where more help is avaliable

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

Can I please put in a vote for a sub-header on 'disability and dosh' along the lines of that originally suggested (a board for anyone suffering from disability or serious/long term illness). Its great that people with disabilities are going there, but I've yet to find anyone on there with cancer, however the support needs are similar, as can be some of the money saving ideas.

    Thanks for listening!

  • To answer your question Oldernothewiser, I've had a look and I think it's a very good idea.

I'll get a blue header bar in the Disability MoneySaving board when I get a moment with links to relevant articles and to the Benefits board too.

In the meantime I've stickied/stuck Martin's original welcome message on the Disability board with a link in it to the Benefits board letting people know their question may get a better response over there.

I've also cross-linked the welcome message on the Benefits board back to the Disability board.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

    Andrea :)
Could you do with a Money Makeover?

Is this actually going to be done? The post is a month old now and the situation has not changed.

Perhaps if threads that are on the incorrect board are actually moved (as they are on all other boards), the message may be reinforced?
