I hate going to the cinema. I'm usually trapped next to someone with bad breath and can't go to the toilet for 2 hours. I always come out with melted chocolate splattered all over my clothes with sprinklings of popcorn stuck to my clothes.
With the DVD I can stop it and fill up my wine glass!0 -
I have no problem using my student card to get discount on a Staurday night at our cinema, in fact both my boyfriend and I have student cards with a combined age of almost 90!!
I have a spree voucher which gives us a free drink with a popcorn and we just share it, but I agree the prices are stupid:rotfl: l love this site!! :rotfl:0 -
Yeh, I go cinema rarely. When I do, I do tend to get tempted with nacho's, drink ice cream etc. But I always allow myself one extra, which is normally nachos and if my friend wants to split, then I get popcorn as well.0

I go to the cinema only when it's cheaper too and I sneak my own food in rather than buy the overpriced rubbish they sell, well sometimes I go in carrying a Sainsbury's bag full of food, luckily the kids that work in my local one don't seem too interested in checking bags at all.:pHOUSE MOVE FUND £16,000/ £19,000

I go to the Cinema at least once a week so have an unlimited pass.
It really is much cheaper as our cinema is now £6.80 per person, therefore once you have been twice in a month and other times you go count as "free".
It is only good for regular goers and is a 12 month contract but its my weekly activity.
We always buy snacks from tesco or we take a large lunch and save some bits until the film.
I agree that the food prices are extortionate, but its a bit of six and two threes for me, if everyone stops buying it they will need to drop their prices to encourage more custom.
However if they cut their prices they may not be able to cover overheads and that would in the long run mean bancrupcy.0 -
I know the feeling. I totally agree that is a complete rip-off. Myself and my partner have an Unlimited card where we can go to the the cinema as many times as we want for £11.99 a month. If you go and see two films in a month, you are saving money. It's great because we are so skint, and kind of see it as a 'free' night out.
The price of food and drinks in my cinema sounds as bad as yours, so we take in our own snacks and juice from home (we usually bulk buy and fill up bottles), which saves a fortune.PAYDBX14 #060 £677/£15500 (4.37%) 6/18 NSD Make £10 a day £179/£155 £2 Savers Club #57 50p Savers Club #24 20p Savers Club #29 7/22 AFD Sealed Pot Challenge #290 Weight loss 2/54lbs 13/21.5 hours Team Dragon!
