ring gear is fine, its the right starter, I think they are just making them cheaper, now this one is barely touching the ring gear, SAME PART NUMBER
shimmed it any and evry possible way, Id have to say this one wont work
and no need to reply as soon as I can figure out how to delete posts I will get off your forum, crazy huh?:rotfl:
trying to find possible reasons it could be happening, Ive never come across this problem before!
next time I will try to find a serious forum, this is a joke
you asked for reasons, this is the reeason why a starters nose cone will break, the teeth dont mesh properly and the shaft that goes into the nose cone moves and braks the cone off.
why does that seem so critical?
you havent came acros this problem before, i have, a few times infact.
this is a serious forum, your the one making a mockery of it....work permit granted!0 -
gears not meshing, wouldnt be the problem here, first starter didt do good from the start, it wasnt catching sometimes, which would sound like the wrong gear, but this last one lasted a month with no nise, operated smoothly and perfect, then the other morning went to start it and it clanked then spun without hitting the ring gear, the one I just got did the same thing as the first one, acts like its way too far from the ring gear, and shimming it would take it farther away!
I starting to thing the craftmanship is getting crummy in those things
and I have looked into it, thats why I am at a loss here
it also seems like some of the stsrters have to large of bolt holes and makes the starter shift when I try to start it
I have to losen it push it over and tighten it, then it will work once, when I try it again, I have to do the same thing0 -

the holes should have bushes in them then, the bolts should be a good fit....work permit granted!0 -
