I don't know the answer to that - however if I had little ones, I wouldn't let them near chicken poo (or any other animal poo!). Before you let little one out to play you would need to scoop all the poo - and they poo lots!!.0 -
Well I have children between the ages of 8 and 2 and I did worry about it a little but it's fine.
Every morning I just scoop up any poo in areas where the children play. To be honest most of their poo occurs at night and mine seem to do a lot in the soil beds anyway. So I'm I check the patio and steps to the top of our garden.
I must admit it's harder to make yourself do it when it's cold, being easier in the spring and summer. My children konw to wash their hands and I buy that soap that doesn't need water as they like using that.
My 2 year old and 4 yearold when she was younger bost eat manure and they just seemed to have a growth spurt;)Kind Regards

I'd love chicks but cant cos we rent but a lady i work for has about 6 chickens, 5 dogs and 7 cats. The cats are never a problem. the chickens can fight their corner when it comes to them, one peck and the cats dont bother even looking anymore, its the dogs and foxes you have to be careful of.What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0

All 3 of my chickens decided to escape on Wednesday. Being very new to chicking keeping I didn't think they could possibly flap so high when clipped....but I saw first one then all three balancing on the top of the 5ft wooden fence to next door. Managed to shoo them back to our side but it has made me very reluctant to let them free range without having to make the garden look like Colditz!!! We then covered the area they were in but the Blackrock decided to have a go again. With many treats I managed to catch her.
Our neighbours have a very big dog (more like a horse) and after reading the post earlier about the dog attacking the chickens I'm even more convinced they should stay in their pen. It's such a shame for them.0
