Do you mean that you want to rip a track from a CD and convert it to a Midi file? It's technically possible but the results are not very good. Best thing to do is google 'convert wav to midi' and see what there is.0

Technically, as CDA files don't actually contain music, you can't. Whilst it is a fairly simple matter to convert the contents of an audio CD into a wide variety of digital file formats such as the widely-known MP3, MIDI is a rather different kettle of fish.
Unlike MP3 files, MID files contain no audio data; they're actually more like the musical scores musicians read when playing their instruments.
That said, you can use a utility such as this to convert simple audio samples into the MIDI format, but you're unlikely to appreciate the results if you're converting anything complex.0 -

Hmm.
If it's a popular trackm there might be pre-prepared MIDI arrangements of it out there on the internet, but expect to look for it.
Generally speaking, the results won't be good for a conversion using the above utility though. At all. Unless the music is VERY simple (e.g. one solo piano track, monophonic.)

Why do they want a MIDI file?
I thought it was someone playing music live and they brought it to the person who brought it to me to get it changed over from one format to another.
I never thought of asking them why they wanted it done or why a midi file.0 -
I'm guessing a bit of chinese whispers or lack of knowledge and MP3 conversion requiredUtinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0

My guess is that either the original person with the CD, or the person they gave it to, got it wrong, misheard, whatever.

He's saying that maybe what the person originally wanted was the sound file converted into MP3 format, and their request had become lost in translation as it got passed on initially to your friend, and then yourself.Russia is HERE0
