oo and I think also, to put him in another room just for the hell of it too sometimes? So he doesn't automaticallyt hink ah she's going out ? I see FC is about she'll help! lollll

he is getting microchipped when he goes and gets his jabs, he is such a good pup, he has little white "toes" not sure if you can see from this pic. he also has two white streaks on each side of his, back, looks like wings lol. he is sitting between my mum and my daughter.

Handmaiden....follow all the above advice and you cant go wrong! Its normal for puppies to cry as they are missing mum and litter mates, And when you leave him he is worried you wont come back as your his new mum. Just persevere and DONT go to him when he is crying, or he will never stop! Also dont let him in your bed unless you want him to always sleep in it(they dont forget)....lol. You could also have a quick word with the neighbours and explain about the noise being from your very young puppy etc. Im sure they will understand. He`s adorable - enjoy!!!! xxxxxxxxx

What a beautiful dog!

My dog used to cry when i left her (I never left her for long) I looked into it and tried behaviour therapy, I used to put my coat on, wlak out of the door and wlak back in again. I used to do this a few times a day and pretend not to notice her. Also jingling the keys and make noises as if to leave. The idea is to de-sensitise the dog to the stress of being left.

Also when you come back home, ignore her for a bit and only give her attention when she has gone to lie down or quiet.

Another useful thing is the D.A.P. dog appeasing pheremone which comes as a plug in diffuser or a spray that you can spray onto their bedding (but not the dog...might want to try a neckerchief or something). This has the scent of a lactating b!tch and calms the dog and it give chance for the psychology to kick in!

It worked for me and I have a very well behaved dog happy and been here for over 10 years now.

yep, keep popping in and out, irregularly and frequently, leaving him in the room where his bed is, and dont make any fuss on leaving or returning and also ignore the dog for the first few minutes when you return (no eye contact etc) - he wll soon realise its no biggie (fussing the dog as you leave or return makes them think its a significant event).

Also at night try giving him a hot water bottle and a ticking clock wrapped in a blanket, as the warmth and rythm is supposed to remind them of their mum and make them feel secure! in the day you could try having a kong.

Why have you got him at 13 weeks? Is he a rescue or did his breeders have trouble selling him? (just wondering if he has come straight from mum or if he has been in kennels or whatever)

he came straight from mum, the lovely lady kept him for me , once I had visited and seen him, , as we had already booked a holiday and also a break to london these last few weeks gone, and I thought it better to collect him once we would all be here, rather than collecting him, then needing for him to be looked after by someone else while we were away,on the 3 seperate occasions, I didnt want to confuse him iykwim xx

he is a stunner,
i got my gs when she was 15 weeks, as i had to go away, ao breeder kept her with her brother and sister til i got back, i had been visiting her from 5 weeks old, shes noisiest dog, not barking, just always excited, or impatient, or when i want to teach her tricks she whines etc, makes for a good, falling over on side yelping when i shout bang,lol.took her to vets last night and she was very good, but could not stay quiet for a second, thankfully only a few there, and didnt mind. otherwise id have waited outside she was soo excited, vet loved her.
so she was already away from her mum, but still with siblings,
she learnt soon enough that she was never alone for long, and that we would return, i also left a sweater that i had worn a couple of times with her, so she had my scent.
