Bought jacket, now reduced by £45, claim difference from the Credit Card company?

Hello,

I bought a jacket, in store, full price at £225. I have checked the website of the same store and the price has now been reduced to £180. I bought the jacket approx 3 weeks ago. Is it possible to claim back the difference from my credit card company?

Thank you!

Some cc companies do offer this service, though only a few. You would need to check with your particular lender if they do.
    Gone ... or have I?

    Have you worn it yet?

If you haven't and have the receipt can you return it and get a refund - and then buy again at the new price?
Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree! :D
  • Some CCs have a price promise insurance thingy as part of their service. It's more likely than not that yours doesn't, and in that case you've got no chance.

Do quite doubt that the shop will take back a £225 jacket after three weeks when there's nothing wrong with it though... they're not obliged to offer a refund in such circumstances.

They might not provide a full refund, but most do give you credit vouchers to use on their stores only.

Why bother checking the price after you'd bought it?

I agree, take the jacket back, get credit note. Then buy it again at the lower price. You'll have some credit left that you use for christmas presents.

Remember next week you'll save a further 2.5% with the VAT reduction, so happy days

You purchased the item at a set price, you were happy with that price...of course you were you purchased the item, why now that the item has been reduced do you want to claim the difference?
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

Well it would save money, and we are on www.moneysavingexpert.com

Seriously though, some Cards do offer this kind of protection so its worth checking.

And if it hasn't been used I don't see anything wrong with going down the Credit Note route and re-buying.
