There's nothing like a good rant, is there! But to save yourself from the pedants, it helps if you can spell minuscule.

    Not necessarily - miniscule

Actually, with me, at the moment, it's an eyesight/screen problem rather than a spelling knowledge problem, after a session at Moorfields last week.

Nevertheless, and at the risk of being accused of pedantry, I'd like to point out that "miniscule" is in the dictionary, too, as an acceptable alternative spelling:

    "min.is.cule
    adjective
    nonstandard spelling of minuscule ."

    (Rather like "dispatch" and "despatch".)

You might find * THIS * interesting.

    - Edit - Doh! Beaten to the draw! Thanks, phoodless. :)

Have we all moved out of the UK? No? Then why not believe the Oxford English Dictionary over some irrelevant foreign one...

    Hi All

I wanted to get some advice.

I bought 1TB of storage from PC world exactly two weeks ago (so I'm still in my returns period) for £89.99.

Watching the TV today, I see it has changed to £79.99 (a difference of £10).

I know that there are a couple of shops who refund the difference if the price changes within two weeks, I've called PC world and they said 'NO we don't do it'. I have asked them to check and call me back, but I'm sure they'll ignore my request.

Has anyone encountered this before, and successful got the difference refunded?

    Thanks

I think Leopard sums it up quite nicely but more fool you for buying from pc world in the first place.

How much time, effort and money have you spent so far, trying, with miniscule prospect of success, to recoup £10 ?

Next instalment: how I bought 80 litres of petrol last month but the price has gone down and BP won't refund me the difference - this is outrageous!

    What planet are you on?

Forgive my ignorance but I thought the purpose of the forum and site was to give advice and not to try and prove that you are any 'better' than someone else by ranting.

£10 may not be a large amount to you, but when you had to save for it - then it is a lot.

Please try to give positive advice, you waste more energy with negativity.

Money saving is only money saving if the amount saved is greater that the cost incurred - in time, money and effort - by saving it.

Hence my opening question to you.

More generally, money saving - whilst good housekeeping - is essentially a negative exercise because there is a finite limit to how much you can save: once that point is reached no more can be saved.

Money making, however, is a positive exercise because there is little or no limit to how much you could make and the making of it generates wealth.

Shops are closing down and people are losing their jobs and homes because people are saving money (by not spending it) instead of making it and spending it. That's how money works.

    Think about it.
