If there are region and protection issues ANY DVD from www.slysoft.com is a great solution. DVD shrink is there to decrypt and shrink a dual layer movie disk to fit on a standard 4.7 Gb DVD blank.

The SlySoft software is very good for backing up DVDs for other uses, I think I still have Hot Fuzz on my mobile from playing around with the software.

I want to make a back up copy of a film I have so DD can keep a copy in her bedroom and I can keep mine nice in the box (DVDs go into hdiing in her room). Will this software do it?

Decryptor will put it onto your hard drive
If you want to compress it to fit onto a single layer disc you also need DVD SHRINK

I remembered I had Nero 6 on disc so I downloaded DVD shrink (I had this before but PC crashed recently and everything wiped) and have now burnt it with Nero.

Neros fine for single layer dvds. But for burning none compressed dual layer you need to use Imageburn

    Single layer is 4.7 gig
Dual is 8.54 Gig (And has a 'layer skip' in the middle (When the dvd pauses for a second or two))
