Using front fogs when it's unnecessary is a finable offence

pity they dont enforce it then , same as doing 33 in a 30 zone

why is having your fogs on a trend for all the chavs anyway ?

also, IIRC you are allowed to drive with one headlamp.. but only if it is masked off in such a way that if it did work, no light can shaow through... and the other lamp must be deflected in such a way that it shines towards the kerb and cannot be seen from above.. relic of the old blackout regs.. and personally I wouldn't want to argue the toss about it.. as I did over my 48 mph moped.. I'll tell you about that if anyones interested...
    Then you remember wrong.

The driving lights shine down at the road much closer to the car than the dipped headlights - exactly which road users would I be dazzling?

You mean those driving lights which are never checked for aim and are frequently knocked when parking front in to things and are therefore frequently pointing upwards?

Those driving lights that provide so little forward light as to be completely pointless for driving other than in fog which is what they're there for?

Those driving lights which, when people use them in clear conditions, usually signifies the driver is a !!!!!?

Those are the ones - don't help much with visibility especially on streets with street lights but probably make your vehicle more visible to other road users when one of the headlights isn't working. Also as stated above on the stilo they are not down on the front skirt spoiler but are in the many light cluster so probably shine at the same angle as the headlights and obviously are not going to be knocked on any kerbs when parking.

I always find they normally indicate the vehicle ahead is doing 45 in the outside lane of a National speed limit dual carriageway while the driver of said vehicle in front is completely oblivious of the line of cars behind and is probably tutting those passing on the inside.
    I think....

For the sake of a £4 bulb and 5mins work it's worth doing to potentially save an accident.

How about for the sake of a £4 bulb and £60 plus vat for 30 mins labour at the main dealer or indeed 35 quid at the independent garage round the corner?
    I think....

if you cant afford to maintain the car in roadworthy condition then stay off the road or get a simple car that the bulbs can be changed easily
