Whoopee! (except I've already allocated the money elsewhere....boring I know!)

I'd check with your local council, i moved last feb but took until August before i got my council tax through. Was shocked to see i still had complete my overall annual payments within the standard 10mth period. This meant i only had from August to end of Feb., this obviously meant my monthly payments were larger than they would have been had i been paying them since i moved back in Feb.
I tried asking if i could do away with the free months of March and April and extend my payments into those 2 mthst thus reducing the payments, but they wouldnt allow this. I explained that it wasn't my fault they had taken almost 6mths to send me my bill from when i moved in, but didnt get anywhere, luckily i have been fortunate enough to juggle other outgoings and will have enough to pay all outstanding payment off this month, thus giving me 3 free months.0 -
If only!!
but my £200 will be going towards 2006-07's council tax....I'd rather knock a couple of hundred off at the start and have slightly lower monthly payments to make.
I hate the amount of tax that has to be paid.... :mad:Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Council tax
Expect mine to exceed £2 grand when the new bill arrives
No - one else gets away with such price increases0 -
I live in London Borough of Brent and they split it over 12 months if you pay by DD.Mortgage-free wannabe!0

We've already done what we do with all "spare" money - arranged to make higher mortgage payments in February and March, so that our overall monthly outgoings won't change.
We WILL get that mortgage paid by our target date of September 2008!0 -
Ive always looked forward to these two free months as I get 2 months free of council tax and 2 months free of water rates(paid by direct debit)........until last year that is!!
Our council (North East Lincolnshire) decided in its great wisdom to bring the first payment of the year forward a month which left us with only one free month.
I was livid. .....wrote to the local paper and a few other people were also up in arms.
Sent the council a snotty email but to no avail.
Tried explaining to them that we were losing out but they insisted we were still only paying ten payments a year.
Id almost forgotten how annoyed I was about this situation until I saw this thread.
Ah well I shall have to make the most of this years 2 free months.....unless of course the council has anything else up its sleeve to hit us with.Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -
I am in a band B house and pay £91 a month at moment. What banding and price per month do other money-savers pay, just out of interest?keep smiling,
