How funny. I agree that the punctuation is very similar: ie no gap after commas and that sort of thing. But, character-wise I would not believe it. Does not quite fit the character profile.

God, I wish I had been a copper. I did consider it after university. Perhaps too emotional and quick to fire up! Used to love Helen Mirren as D.I. Tennyson (as I imagine you did!).

My Suzi wanted to be a copper but her mum wouldn't let her too dangerous but she still regrets not joining. Nothing like the job it used to be though.
