Just looking out onto the fish pond, only a few feet from the kitchen patio doors. My prize specimen a golden koi, 8 years old, 18 inches long and about 7lbs in weight, called Flash (they've all got names
) She's struggling to swim upright, float bladder problems. Doubt she'll be having a ninth birthday party with all her aqua pals.

I love animals but had a real bad time with time with pets recently. Had a hand reared cockatiel called Coco he was like a little dog, didn't believe in flying in the house, he just walked, followed me every where. On my shoulder all day, unlike the OH who is on my back most of the day
. He even use to stay on my shoulder in the shower. I was able to walk around the garden with him, until one day something spooked him and he flew off. I was gutted and put lost posters in all the shops. 5 days later a lady telephone saying she'd found him, he had flown down and landed on her husbnd's shoulder whilst they were having tea outside. Fetched him home, he started to talk and mimic the phone. Then bang for no apparent reason the poor little thing keeled over and died. I've buried him near the fish pond, next to the 3 guinea pigs, 2 hamsters , a rabbit, and 2 gerbils. Like a pet's cemetry. :rotfl:
