Bernard Madoff has just lost $50 billion.
There are a billion starving people in the world.
We're all worried about losing a few quid.
Imagine how much $50 each would mean to those in true need.
I know that is a ridiculous over simplified assesment.
But isn't the world going crazy?

Hopefully the 3rd world countries have been less reliant on credit and are therefore less vulnerable to the crunch.
Hopefuly commodity prices will continue to fall and there will be enough food for everyone.

only time for 2 secs, but just reflect....we are instinctively greedy.....we love it when our house value goes up....and so did the lenders that's why they couldn't give a damn if the purchaser couldn't afford repayments in a couple of years...they'd repossess and flog the house and still make a pretty penny!
Sorry Michael Douglas in Wall Street, Greed is NOT good.0 -
I can't work it out. This thread has now over 30,000 hits. In the 3 hours I've been away there's been 500. Now it can only mean two things (1) that tens of thousands visit once and never return or (2) we have hundreds of visitors who visit, like the banter and keep returning. I'm hoping that the second possibility is correct, if that is the case please get involved and keep the whole thing going. We're a friendly bunch and would welcome new posters with open arms. Don't be shy dip your toe in the water, there's no one here that's going to bite it off.In memory of Chris Hyde #8670
