Bernard Madoff has just lost $50 billion.
There are a billion starving people in the world.
We're all worried about losing a few quid.
Imagine how much $50 each would mean to those in true need.
I know that is a ridiculous over simplified assesment.
But isn't the world going crazy?

Hopefully the 3rd world countries have been less reliant on credit and are therefore less vulnerable to the crunch.
Hopefuly commodity prices will continue to fall and there will be enough food for everyone.

My fixed rate account was due to mature around the 20th of november.
When I got my email, I logged in to my icesave account and then chose to wait until maturity date for my fixed rate account. This was on the 20th.
I was expecting the forms from the FSCS shortly after that but none have materialised.

Your best bet would be to contact the FSCS by phone TBH, according to other reports they still have some forms to send and the last lot are being posted today so hopefully yours may be amongst them, but if you are concerned I would give them a call. :)

Out to blooming Tesco's yet again. How many times each year do I say "Right that's absolutely the last shop. We've got the lot, don't need another thing"
