Just popping in for a quickie as I had to escape from the most embarrassingly pathetic performance from Sir Cliff on Royal Variety...he should have taken a leaf out of Ami's book and retired at 50! Very weak voice....and he can't blame the sound system..younger performers were belting it out!
Great to see you back Chameleon, what have you changed into this time since you've been away?
Got to say that never did a baldy look more handsome that Yule..although never trust a guy's verdict!0 -

No, I can totally relate to the children with important exams scenario! Son in his A2 year and needs a rocket up his a*se. I have become a total nag. He is sick of me. I am sick of myself nagging. Thank goodness he broke up today (and is getting p*ssed as we speak) ... but he has a couple of module retakes to do so no respite these holidays.
That made me laugh so much that son had to come and investigate the source of my merriment and walked off in a huff once he realised what we discussing :rotfl:
Glad I'm not the only nag
He's currently slaving over a 1500 word piece of history coursework which is due in tomorrow and he only started it last night!
In the meantime I'm off to pour myself another large brandy!“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

If he's anything like my lads were, he'll have been set the course work at the beginning of summer term
That's usually the case, yes, but he claims this particular question was only set a week ago
Anyway, I'm not about to drag the mood of the thread down discussing teenage troubles ....
Where are all these hunky men you guys were talking of????“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Reminds me of my courting days if you replace quickie with longie.
An inverse equation there somewhere.
Short term relationship the longer the longie
Long term relationship the quicker the quickie. :rotfl:
:T Excellent , think you've hit the spot there (so to speak!)
Just had to tell you that Leona Lewis was so superb it almost brought a tear to my eye. Have you noticed with guys its always ALMOST, never to actually admit a blubber?!!
Re assessed coursework, I preferred the old days when you take it kinda easy up till about April, then swot like mad for the exams. Trouble with continual assessment is you have to work hard all year, dammit!0 -
If you ever get time read back through the thread it says a lot about the human psychi, male and female opinion etc. When there were no female posters things got a little raunchy, in an attempt to restore balance us blokes started posting things that we thought the ladies may like. Never quiet worked out. :rotfl:In memory of Chris Hyde #8670

Wow! That's rough. You must be the world's most ineffective nag! He should have started it already!
Son was the same last night - 2500 words on The Kite Runner, but was 2nd or 3rd draft. He still has Hamlet coursework to do from last year (retake). What is it with boys and coursework? They just can't seem to get it together.0 -
I caught a glimpse of it - a Frankie Valli tribute band. Rather good, I must say. You know you're getting on a bit when the Royal Variety Show actually rocks your boat!0

Go Geraldine!!!!! :T :rotfl:“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0
