Hi KAAT:hello:
My friend gave me a Prima breadmaker last week, and it's great, but think I need to tweak the recipe a bit cos my bread is still a bit stodgy:rolleyes: Just got an electric knife today to slice it then I can freeze it cos it doesn't last very long otherwise:o:DHope your's is ok hun;)

Updating my signature after a few more supermarket visits. Just over halfway with both money and budget. I might just make it. Keep your fingers crossed. I treated myself to Jamie's new book yesterday. Old style of course with a money off voucher on a book that was already discounted:j. So that £7.50 didn't blow the budget too much.
I had a nice surprise from DD today. She asked me if instead of rice krispies for breakfast she could have some of the HM bread I made "because it tasted really nice the other day with the soup". I just had to give her a kiss and a cuddle for that:kisses3:. She is usually not that keen on trying different things (like so many fussy 6-year olds).
A NSD for me today. Only the third time this month but then I never used to have any at all and just spend, spend, spend. All it took was a bit of planning and lots of ideas from you guys :T . Thanks everyone for the inspiration.:cheesy::cheesy: Cheese… milk's leap toward immortality :cheesy: :cheesy:Clifton FadimanFeb'11 - GC: £105.89/£125 - NSD: 15:jMar'11 GC: £3.84/£100 - NSD: 00 -
I'm still on target for my £50 budget this month! I've been eating a lot of store cupboard meals.
Just got to get through the next week and a bit, then I'm off to my mums for Christmas! Free food there!
Because it's fun to have money!

Hi everyone.
I'm trying to stick to the challenge this month, but haven't been around since work has been so busy. A week tomorrow and we'll have broken up, yay.
Gonna try and root out the Mr M receipt from the weekend and update my total sometime this weekend. Prob will have to get a few more things in as the Mr M shop last week wasn't as productive as I had hoped!

I have slipped over the budget today. Needed to get some onions to batch cook the sausage casserole we had for tea, some apples, oranges and milk. I had to nip to the PO and had planned to go to the F&V shop next door for the bits I needed but it appears to have been taken over and they didnt even have any onions in:eek: . Had to go to Mr S but managed to control myself:o and just get what I needed. They did have some y/s steak and pork chops but only about 80p off a £4 pack so I didnt bother. I read about all the fantastic y/s prices you all snap up on here and I thought I'm not paying that! lol:D
I intend to use my £9 off £60 voucher for Mr S at the end of next week. I should get my Christmas bits out of this(which comes out of another budget) aswell. If I can come in at £180 with a fair bit of storecupboard stuff put away I will be a happy bunny.Annual GC £2500/£486.79 for 2 adults and 2 dogs
Savings Target 2009 Lloyds Act £6000/£1200 Jars & pig for Christmas and holidays0 -
NSD for me today,
There does seem to be a paucity of good whoopsies recently. I know for a fact that there are people who hover, waiting for the girl to come out with the repricing gun – I’ve seen them!
I did pop into Mr T on the way home yesterday & was able to get some deli ham for 47p, a chunk of feta for 27p & a bag of apples for 50p, so I was quite happy with that. I am still keeping my eyes open for some whoopsied sausages, but as that is for January’s meal plan I have a couple of weeks yet.
I meal planned (very roughly) at the beginning of the month based on what I had in anyway & then batch cooked. And I have been grabbing whoopsies when I see them ready for January to do the same again. Seems to be working for me, as I have spent so much less than in the past.0 -
I'm failing miserably. Spent even more than usual - and we have nothing to eat.:(0

Have updated my total:eek: I have less than £100 to do me til the end of december. Thankfully we are away for 4 days over xmas:D Need to keep a better eye on things methinks. Still struggling to have enough time to make things from scratch. Most of the meals are fine, its the extras like bread that i dont seem to have time for.
Last exam tomorrow though for this term so i should have a bit more time on my hands next week.

I have a Tesco breadmaker, i like it but it is not like a panasonic! If i recall correctly it is a restyled Morphy Richards. Not bad for the money though, i paid less than £25 for mine. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0
